Can Vick even cross the border to work in Canada for the CFL?

....and no -The Wildcat formation is just a trick play - you can get away with it for a while, especially in college but in the NFL, where the skill sets are higher, the players bigger and stronger - the short answer is -NO.

pdson2 is right.

I'm sure a lot of coaches want him. Not many owners though. I think he'll have to sit out another year and do a hell of a lot of good works during that time before anyone will sign him. He lied to Goodell's face and to his GM's face. That won't soon be forgotten. And I believe the bastards lying now about being so sorry. Yeah, he's sorry - sorry he got caught. A hell of a lot of animal lovers will cancel their season tickets with whatever team signs him. Fuck him.

I know the wildcat is just a gadget play. I was not suggesting that you break out the wildcat formation on every play that would just be ridiculous. No team that I know of uses the wildcat formation on every play. The thing is when Vick was in the league Dan Reeves, Jim Mora Jr. tried to cater to Vick's talents they tried to tailor the offense around Vick's skill set. I'm not sure teams would be willing to change their whole offense around for Vick right now. Perhaps in the right situation maybe. I'm not even suggesting that Vick come back as a QB though I think he should. I heard Herm Edwards suggesting the Saints could use him in their backfield. Imagine the misdirection plays you could run if you had Vick and Reggie Bush in the same backfield. Linebackers would freeze like ice.

And no, I am not saying to replace Drew Brees with Michael Vick so I hope no one gets it twisted. I'll say that now before anyone thinks that Im saying that. I'm saying he could be used as a utility player of sorts , he would be especially useful on gadget plays or misdirection plays even as a decoy. Something tells me though someone will give him a chance as a QB. I wouldnt even be surprised if it was Seattle. Jim Mora Jr his former coach does coach there. The trick would be Mora having to sell Paul Allen on it. That would be the difficult part. Also its Greg Knapp that is the OC in Seattle and he was also the OC in the ATL when Vick was there. He could serve as Hasselbeck's backup to start, while Hasselbeck is not washed up he is not a spring chicken either.

I understand for what I have read the he is going to volenteer at the Humane Sociaty to work with animals. Thats a good start back, very smart

Hopefully not just a smart move.I really hope he's learnt his lesson. However, the callousness of the acts performed on the dogs he bred to fight makes me wonder otherwise.....

I have to agree with you here. Who really believes this is his idea? Can anyone say PR move? Should he be allowed back in the NFL? I don't believe he should be allowed out of jail yet! In the "real world" any of the rest of us would still be there. This guy organized and ran a dog fighting "business". Animals were bred and trained to fight to the death. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were wagered and lost on these "events". Animals that did not perform were shot and killed. Countless others were rescued after the fact and had to be euthanized because they could not be put back into a home anywhere.

The reality of it is he will not only be allowed back into the NFL...he will be a starting QB somewhere and make millions of dollars because he will put asses in the seats and sell millions of #7 jerseys. The man is pathetic and should rot in jail another 5 years and any owner who brings him back is no different than Vick himself.
