Michael obviously didn't experience a normal childhood and is spending most of his adult life trying to re-capture it.

I retracted my vote for "not guilty", which was only cast to help balance out the lynch mob scenario, and took the liberty of adding "I don't know" - magic, ya know : )
Pool, if I wanted an “I don't know category I would have added it myself. As a moderator you should not be altering members original posts, or Poll's.. this makes TERB lose credibility as a forum. How does one know that there posts won’t be altered by you in the future? It’s uncalled for that you should have altered my poll what so ever!

If people “don’t know then they should not cast a vote at all. Do we have a “I don’t know on the ballot when we vote for Prime Minister?

MJ is a very shrewd business man, which is never reported. So to bring him down (mentally and financially) he is put through another scandal.
Not Guilty.

I hate to break it to you, but part of the role of a moderator is to edit polls and posts, but only if requested by the member or the content of the post oversteps TERB guidelines. As well as activating links. I can assure you that neither myself or any moderator would use this privilege in an underhanded manner - I think most people trust the ethics of moderators on this issue.

So, I did overstep my boundaries as a moderator. I was wrong to assume you would see it as a helpful gesture and useful option given the progression of the thread. I should not have intruded on your poll in any form unless requested.

My apologies to those who voted "I don't know". I returned it to it's original state.

The difference is that in the case of an election most people have all the information they need [or at least as much as they are given] to interpret it and make an "informed" decision. In that case, given the stage it's at, an option of "I don't know" would be of no use whatsoever in direct relation to the result. In a sense, some people are forced to make a conclusive decision. In a survey, which I presume this is intended to be, it's a different story.

Guilty of being a weird person. Anything more we don't know.

I can't help thinking with little Michael, what if, what if he's actually telling the truth:

that he likes helping and being around kids because he didn't have a 'normal' childhood.
And consequently doesn't know a 'mature' way to act with kids.

He might actually be a small time philanthropic saint albeit a fucked up looking and acting one.

Society as represented in the media always tries to bring down our 'icons'.
Years past they were outed as heretics, plague bearers, homosexuals, communists,
adulterers, druggies, now pedophiles. Most were none of the above.

I voted not guilty in the poll for now, until more evidence comes in, I have a big problem with the fact that the mother of this poor kid tried to get money out of a department store claiming she was assualted and sexually roughed up in a parking lot by a security guard of the store which was tossed out after she was exposed for lieing.

The bigger problem I have with this case is as a parent myself if my child came home with accusations of being molested sexually, my first reaction would be to get a bat from the closet and go investigate, but a cooler head would prevail and I would contact the police, what I would NOT do is what this boys mother did which was to set up appointments to go see lawyers 3 in fact who would not take her case, until she tracked down the lawyer who had got a settlement in the 1993 case. Why did she not go to the police first?
I believe Jackson is guilty of poor judgement and this boys mother is guilty of being a shitty parent acting out of greed.

Do I think he's creepy, bizzare motherfucker? Yes. Do I think it's weird to have sleep-overs with kids? Yes. Did I find it disgusting when Jackson said "That's what you do with people you love, you take them to bed" in the infamous documentary? Yes.

Do I think he "molested" these kids? No. There's a fine line I just don't believe he crossed. Damn close, though, and he certainly left himself open to his current situation.

Would I let him within 300 yards of my own kids? Not on your bloodly life.

I voted guilty... I don't know what he is guilty of, but MJ is guilty of something.. it's either blatant stupidity/ignorance or the crime that he is accused of.... either way he should go to jail... it's time that people go to jail for being stupid...

The thing I wonder about MJ Is... WHERE'S THE SEX????? It just does not make sense... Now I realize that everyone here may be biased.... but human beings have sexual needs, and if those needs are not manifested by healthy sexual behaviour, what happens????

Did MJ even have sex to impregnante his surrogate mother???

As far as most people know, MJ has never had a romantic relationship (Lisa Marie does not count), and I am sure that he has never banged Liz Taylor.

During one of his surgical procedures, was he castrated?

WTF... this guy has been repressed sexually for most of his adult life, and he has young children (not his own) come to sleep with him in his bed???

On the one hand, I would love to believe that MJ is just this big niave kid who truly loves children, and would do anything to help them. I do think that MJ believes that he does truly loves these children, and that everything that he does is because he loves them and they love him.... "and when you love someone you take them to bed"....

it's just frightening...
