There is no real scientific evidence that I know of to validate such cleanses
They claim to remove "toxins"
Now ask yourself "WTF is a toxin?"
If your M.D. does not recommend such cleansing it is because they do not work at best or damage you at worse
I mean, does not his/her information come from modern scientists who study this stuff with double blind studies etc ?
What scientific evidence does the manufacturer have or the author of a book ?
I do not know about this product/book but the ingredients on the cleanses I have read are mainly fibre which is very cheap to buy at any health food store.
The body is designed by nature to cleanse itself.
I agree.
I personally think this cleanse thing is unsupported and unnecessary.
if you want to avoid putting junk in your body, fat, cholesterol, etc, just don't eat much.
Just have some fibre, prune juice, prunes to increase gastrointestinal transit time to decrease absorption however this is not absolute. This furthermore decreases the risk factor of developing GI pathologies such as diverticulosis, cancer etc. That is a benefit to "cleansing".
You can't remove the toxins in your body by flushing your GI system. Because they are not there. When they absorbed in your tissues by various routes, they are in..just avoid them...etc. Lead, asbestos, Alcohol, smoke products etc.
if you want to lose weight you don't need all these commercial tools...and make someone else richer.
It is simple:
burn more than you eat. (eat right, workout)
