Houston Cougars have been the top bet/most bet team for most of the year and I'm going to ride them. But there are rumors that their best player is out with injury so I'm going to make an alternate bet with Alabama as my 2nd pick for the tournament winner and then add 4 futures bets to it to increase leverage. Cheap fun. Good luck everyone !

P.S. Maybe use another bet provider other than the one below since they have very weak cash outs, but I'm riding till Feb 2024 !

This is a true story, about 20 years ago I never followed NCAA hoops and my friend was doing a bracket challenge for let's say $ 10. He said what's $ 10, give it a try, so I did. I put all the NCAA team stats and Las Vegas championship odds in front of me and filled in the bracket backwards using all that data in front of me. I won the $ 2,000 first prize by fluke. Fluke it was, but my guesses were based from stats. The moral of the story is, use stats to guide your selections.

I learned from filling out thousands of brackets, you don't need to aim for the perfect bracket. The key is to find those few rare upsets so that going forward in the bracket, you will be scoring max points when your opponents are scoring zero. Took me 20 years to figure that out. Just scout out the upset matchups.

There are some good analyses about winning pools based not on picking the overall winners but rather hitting on games that other people miss.

I'm leaning towards KU. I've put together a bracket just based on instinct (and watching a bunch of games) but haven't put together my well thought out one. Last year both brackets ended up with the same number of wins.

As for Houston, I'm suspecting that Sasser's injury isn't too bad and they can get through this weekend without him.

And nice to see the Toronto kid doing so well and a potential player of the year candidate. Don't know if he's got the footspeed to contribute in the league but being 7'5, he's going to have teams look at him.

I haven't watched much NCAA hoops this year but just gut feeling the champion will be one of the following: KU, Bama, Houston or Purdue. The second half of last year's championship game was amazing for KU ! Good luck !

FDU Coach predicted #16 FDU ousting #1 seed Purdue in a shocker. Average height of FDU team is only 6 feet one inch.
Purdue has Canadian star Zach Edey at 7 feet 4 inches. But FDU used relentless speed to force Purdue into 26 turnovers.
Rated as the greatest upset in tournament history

I'm in 2 March Madness pools. The AZ loss really screwed me on both entries. Also had Duke going to elite eight.

Caitlin Clark of the Iowa Hawkeyes is the most exciting player in college basketball. Female version of Stephen Curry. Unbelievable player
