Either you really love to spin doctor and twist what people say just to antagonize, or you really don't understand what people are saying in the first place. FFS!
1) Not sure who Dubois is. Regardless, I said that the MLSE execs would probably start to consider whether or not to fire Kyle Dubas if the team didn't get off to a good start. Let's be honest here - they didn't. Yes they have been winning of late, which as I said may have been a reprieve for Dubas, but if they hadn't suddenly gone on a long winning streak, I think Dubas would have been toast. If they do start to tank again in late NOv and Dec, I personally don't believe Dubas will have a long shelf life. Time will tell, it's just a fan's speculation. Sue me.
2) I never said they would never win with Marner, as in 'Marner bashing'. My posting history actually shows I've been a consistent fan of Marner. What I said was if the Leafs want to make a serious run at the cup, they need a better roster than the current one. Again, my belief is that the only way to make significant enough changes to upgrade this roster for a cup run is to trade one of the core. In this case, I think logically it has to be Marner. I believe the phrase used was "unfortunately, I don't think they can afford to keep him". That's a far cry from saying the will never win with Marner.
3) I also never said bringing in better players destroys chemistry. I asked the question 'what happens to team chemistry when there is a healthy group of
reasonably quality guys all sitting in the stands as healthy scratches, all chomping at the bit to get into a game, and forced to watch the likes of Engvall, Ritchie, Simmonds, and Spezza thrash around. You said there is zero affect on team chemistry. Speaks volumes to your depth of knowledge and direct experience, but you're entitled to your own opinion. I won't bother to try and educate you, because I've learned there is no other opinion that
ever merits consideration other than yours, so it's a complete waste of time to try.
4) I said the Leafs played well against the NYI. I also essentially said that beating a shitty team down with injuries doesn't make the Leafs cup contenders, DOMINANT, or world beaters, and shutting out a shitty team down with injuries doesn't automatically make Joseph Woll the defacto solution to the backup goalie situation, nor should it artificially inflate anyone's opinion of exactly what he his as a goal-tending asset. As usual, a win over a weak team has Leafs fans planning cup parades and crowning middling players as 'generational talents'.
This team is essentially playing and winning on the backs of 5-7 players who have so far managed to stay healthy, and even though they are winning games, they aren't dominant nor are they destroying anyone. The season is only 20 games old. Does anyone really believe a team with this little depth and peripheral talent will ride the same 5-7 players throughout an 82 game regular season and go deep in the playoffs? There needs to be some changes, and there will be - either through injuries or necessary trades. If not, I'd predict they'll fall significantly in the standings and potentially miss the playoffs.
