Luscious Lexi Website

I was reading a recent review of Luscious Lexi and decided to visit her website and check the young lady out. While I have no problem with the LL or the review and am disturbed by the wesite at http://torontoecort4u.homestead.com/index.html

Apparently there is a program running which downloads a program called Comet Cursor and imbeds itself in the operating system, in effect a virus. Not being a "Techie" I am guiding my choice of words carefully. Did this program come from her website?

If there is one thing that I absolutely despise is viruses, trojan horses and the likes being installed on my computer without my permission. Would someone check this out and please advise? I want to know if this is where this "Comet Cursor" originated before I say anymore.

Actually, Comet Cursor is another one of those insidious adware/spyware programs.

Here are some links explaining what it does, and why you should NOT have it on your computer:

This site has tips on removing.

This is the BEST tool to clean all of these ad spamming/tracking programs out of your computer:

If you really want fancy cursors on your website, it's just as easy (and less intrusive!) to program them into your design code. Try www.dynamicdrive.com for some good examples.

PS: I should have mentioned that most people do NOT know what Comet Cursor does. I highly doubt that Lexi had anything malicious in mind by having it on her site. Tons of personal sites have it.

So it is on this site?

OK thanks for the information. I did get rid of this program, or as I would prefer to call, a virus. The reason being, just like any plant that grows where you don't want it, is a weed. Maybe Lexi did not have any intent to load this program on my my computer but inevitably she did and is responsible for this activity.

It certainly seems counter-productive for someone to advertise their services and then resort to this form of subversion. I have my own business therefore I am ultra-sensitive as to the activities of others. I also have a proclativity for visiting the odd porno site and really become upset at the dirty computer tricks these pr**** atempt after they invite your viewing.

I am sure Lexi practices safe sex. I just wish she would similarly practice the same respect for others when it comes to her website. I will never visit again and she has lost one potential sale!

Unfair maybe but I don't care.

Hello Siobhan. When it comes to the point of websites implanting programs, viruses, spyware or anything else without my knowledge I am a real hardass. I wouldn't do anything to you or Lexi to effect your income and well being. Why would someone do it to me? If she is not aware of this activity it doesn't eliminate the responsiblity.

In my humble opinion, this form of invasion, whether marketing or entertainment, should be illegal. It is a form of hacking that is mean spirited and damaging. I noticed that my computer really slowed down once it was installed and it was not enough to just delete the program but you had to do a search for a similar file called comet.exe which was a phone home and re-install scenario.

As for the security of the browser which I have set at the standard option, any higher and downloading of other media types or programs become difficult. I also have McAffee constantly running and regularly scan for viruses. Up till now, McAfee was successful.

Funny how you folks can figure I am a bad guy for saying anything and poor Lexi has been slighted. Something wrong here wouldn't you say?

If you have your internet security setting at the standard level (in IE it would be Medium) then the only reason I can think of that this program was d/led without your approval is that you, or someone else one your computer, has already told IE to implicitly trust all content from that company. If that's the case I have no idea how you would stop that at this point. Perhaps that info is stored in a cookie?
