Welcome back @Ponderling - how was the vinyl scene in Poland. I would l love to go treasure hunting in those European countries. I am sure you would find some great records.Just back from a vacation. I will start posting again.
I did find an LP record to further my old Decca/London Record's Phase 4 line in a used record shop in Krakow Poland, of all places.
First I need to get my body onto NA time again, and wait for my ears to stop ringing.
I was sitting just back of the wing, in the window seat. I wore ear plugs the whole flight back.
The engine noise for more than 8 hours in that seat was considerable.
On the menu today. After being reminded of Silverchair - their debut was brilliant. Thanks @Ponderling ,I stumbled upon a milk crate of cd's in a dumpster find last weekend. About 50 discs.
Pretty evenly split between nice classical recordings and 90's bands I have never heard of.
Still getting caught up from being away:
Like I have cut the lawn twice to hack it down to a respectable length despite a half hearted trim by youngest son a week into my vacation.
And bundled garbage in bags to the office dumpster as the guys at home did not get the bin out on collection day
So yesterday it was an odd pairing:
Silverchair - Freakshow 1997 CD
and
Barber - Adagio for Strings, and Schuman - In Praise of Shahn : Bernstein backed by NY Philharmonic 2003 CD
Papa Roachs' Infest was their breakthrough release - 'Last Resort' was a big hit for them. Great band. Enjoy. Let me know what your thoughts are on the band.Tonight another strange pairing of new to me tunes.
Mahler - 15 different tracks - Janet Baker mezzo soprano backed by New Philharmonia conducted by Sir John Barbirolli, 1968 & 1970 , CD reissue 1999.
And
Papa Roach-Infest, or Infest Papa Roach - CD 2000. No liner notes so not sure what this is about yet.
