I am tapering out of my full time work career.
Through COVID we ran short of work at the office.
I asked to be put on 3 days a week so younger co-workers in my team would have a reduced chance of layoff.
3 days keeps health insurance and employer part of cpp and ei and pro rated holiday pay happening where I work.
This 3 day of working and working from home taught me that dear wife and I can be around the house together a fair bit and still get along.
Now that work has picked up again I still am staying with mostly 3 day weeks. And go to the office for these three days.
So ever weekend is an extra long weekend.
True stat holiday long weekends I take 2 days holiday with so to give me 11 days off.
Yes it seems weird to give up the full time pay when I was the one initiating it, but there comes a time when there is more to life than slaving at the desk.
