One would think that less sophisticated users would be attracted to the iOS and Mac products because of its heavy advertising and purrdy exteriors - gotta give credit to the industrial design team to Team Apple.
Interesting enough, I was just reading this thread about which phone would be easier to use.

A few of the comments
"iphone is definitely more user friendly for the less tech savvy. no matter how many models they put out, it's essentially the same phone. too much of a cookie cutter phone for my preference.
if u want more customization, android is the way to go. but then again, it's more intricate to do the personalized settings. "
"iPhone has a zero learning curve between devices really, because almost every iPhone out there is nearly identical. Which, to me, is a bit of a turn-off. "
"Oh mos definetly the iPhone. My 1st time using an iPhone was far easier than the day i recieved my Android. I'm loving android, and would take it over iOS ANYDAY, but for the average joe who isn't tech-savvy i'd suggest taking iOS. "
"both systems have there plus and minus, iphone gets boring after awhile, but theres alot of great things on each, but its what your needs are and what you like!! "
So by the comments along with the heavy marketing of iOS, I'd dare say that Android users would tend to be a bit more sophisticated than you'd assume, because it has a bit more in terms of its interface and customization options.'
Much like Linux, if you were to compare Apple and Linux users and who was more sophisticated...? lol
