LL and SP providers at Ottawa - Deposit scams

Dear team ,

this is my first post here so please bare with me apologies if I do some first mistakes here..

I am traveling all over the world on business and never had the “challenges” as I had this week at Ottawa .

I have found LL and browsed till I took a decision to try a couple of offerings .

all of these SPs where insisting on pre deposits with pre paid gift cards . I immediately denied because that not the way it works anywhere around the world ( EU or Asia , I have allot of good reviews and recommendations in case needed ).

with the first SP - she insisted on 100CD deposit via gift card . I have sent 2 x 50CD online numbers . She immediately said that they are not good and can’t be verified. While trying to convince me to send more .. I bailed.

with the second one - the same … but this time I have sent only the first 50CD. She said it’s not working also . After I have tried it myself and redeemed the second 50CD successfully I have understood that this is the system and bailed .

I have lost 150CD. I have started reading allot and got here

what I don’t get is that any other SP I have tried on LL Ottawa was the same - please send 100CD deposit via gift card.

Is there any way to find REAL and VERIFIED out call service in Ottawa?

Bottom line: deposit requests more often than not are an invitation to be scammed.

Before sending your deposit to her, you can ask here if she is real or a scam.

Unfortunately, Leolist in Ottawa is full of scam. You will be better serve with Tryst or with Twitter. Don't go blind, ask before.

Trust reviews from long time well established members of this board.

This is good advice. Also:

- look for providers that advertise on on Tryst (more dependable source of information). Another source of dependable ladies is OIC (Ottawa Independent Companions).
- look for providers that have X (Twitter) accounts and/or web sites... they are more likely to be real and contain accurate information.
- look for those who have numerous positive reviews, preferably from Terbites who have been around for a while.

It is understandable that some providers request a modest deposit but sending gift cards to those who haven't built a reputation for being honest is definitely unwise. Good luck!

TG - telegram?? I am not a user on the platform but I’ve read here that most ads with telegram contact are scam or suspicious & ask for deposits. Not sure it’s 100% true but enough comments on it that I am not interested in telegram

The Deposit doesn’t mean it is a scam !
Tell me why a SP would not ask for a deposit especially for an outcall as you mentioned above ?
There are SPs who don’t ask for deposits on LL for Incalls .
If the Asia no deposit system works for you then good for you ! Even among European SP there some who ask for deposits !
There are so many times wasters , fake clients , etc on LL too ! There are good clients too but they are a few !
Everyone has their reasons for doing x,y,z. things .
I am sorry for your 150$ lost . I Hope you will recover or find a solution for that !

i have no problem with honest pre deposit … just wanna make sure its not scam again !

and I will pay more attention here for recommendations and feedback - maybe over there pre deposit is more trustworthy.

regarding TG - yes its easy and it’s more secure … didn’t really thought that verified accounts on LL that are using TG will do that . I have the names of at least 2 SPs , screen captures and pictures of the new sent cards while they claim it’s invalid .

As others mentioned above, use www.tryst.link or www.oicompanions.ca to find verified and reputable providers. Cross reference these providers by also looking up their social media accounts like X/Twitter, Bluesky or Instagram and also cross reference with a search for reviews on this board. If they are a legitimate and reputable provider they will most likely be mentioned on Terb at some point. Even if they have a no review policy, someone here will be able to confirm if they are real and not a scam.

The best way to avoid being scammed is to do your research.

Deposits are very common here, especially for reputable providers, as it weeds out the time wastersand bad apples amongst clients.

Deposit scams are not the only risk you take by booking an unverified provider. These scenarios might not be particularly common, but you could also potentially be drugged and robbed, assaulted, threatened by a pimp, extorted, doxxed or entrapped by LE. And quite frequently you will encounter a bait & switch, shitty service or a bad attitude. I have no idea why anyone would take these risks when it’s so easy to locate verified, reputable providers. We do also ask for deposits but have earned this trust through years of demonstrably fair dealings and reliable behaviour.

If you’re going to look for providers on Leolist, know that it is just as scammy as Facebook marketplace is for tradespeople. Always do some research to verify this person is who they say they are and has a good reputation for professionalism, not just great oral skills. You can do this by checking their website, social media, their circle of friends & duo partners, reviews and other groups they are members of. The absence of any of this corroborative information speaks for itself.

I have no idea about TG. A lot of us don’t use it because it scrapes RWI from your phone. I don’t know working ladies who would just provide images and videos directly without being compensated so likely they are looking for something from you just as they would on OF. And in this age of AI, I would personally be suspicious that it could be men or a digital farm of some sort using fake or partially fake images to get something from you.

I assume that those 150CD of Amazon card are lost probably ( because they already redeemed it ) . I have these two SPs LL profiles and TG accounts but I doubt it if it will help to redeem my money back .

It doesn’t sound like these were professional sex workers, but scammers and so you could post their profiles here to warn others. That’s helpful as a quid-pro-quo to other TERB members and because the less we feed scams, the less of these there will be.

It’s doubtful however that it will matter enough to them to refund you. All they have to do is change their name and number to start over. Unfortunately, in most cases you have to look at it like you just took $150 course in how to avoid scams. I know it sucks but I can tell you I have met people who’ve lost 10K, that’s one expensive lesson!

It can be perfectly safe to send a deposit. I require a deposit for all my bookings for example and all of my duo partners require them. But we also do quite a few things to reassure clients we’re reliable and act in good faith. For many of us, if we do hear of a provider who is behaving badly, we will not associate with them in business dealings because it would harm our hard-earned reputations. And we also wouldn’t want to lose a potentially excellent regular over a deposit.

This obviously hasn’t been the nicest welcome to Canada, I hope you will connect with someone great next to help redeem this experience.

I agree that probably this was a crash course into the scene at Ottawa .. but don’t get me wrong please … Canada is great , Canadian women are beautiful and Ottawa maybe sleepy after 10PM but better than other places I have been all around the world .

I dont know who to recommend but those prepaid cards are always a scam.

E transfers are often a scam too but unfortunately , they are necessary because of how many people send us to fake addresses.

Last night I believe I was sent to a house because of a neighbor dispute. I believe one of the neighbors of this household calls and sends people to that address at all hours of the day and night.

Sometimes there is no one home, sometimes no one is expecting me (one time I was threatened with a gun)

Since accepting deposits i haven't had these issues. Last night I went out without accepting a deposit because I was already in the area and even though it cost me nothing to get there, I need it for verification. I went out without accepting a deposit and I regret it. People with bad intentions don't want to share their contact information.

I don't agree with people having to send the full amount and I don't agree with people having to send half.

I think people should send at least what it costs to get there as a good faith gesture and so i'm not out any money. At that point I have their name and they might screw me around once, but they'll never be able to do it twice. I've never had someone who sent me a deposit screw me around. They are always respectful and easy going.

It weeds out the trash.

It's honestly less about the money and more about a verification process so if a lady is
actually in Ottawa and they only care about not getting screwed around there's no reason why it should cost $100 to get to you.

Maybe cab fare, maybe gas money, maybe a bit extra... but you shouldn't have to send the majority of the fee upfront.

A real escort only wants to know that you're real and that she's not going to get screwed around.

I care about verification so sometimes the minimum $5 or $10 is enough. I generally ask for 20 or 40. Its not about the money, it's about someone proving their intentions. If someone respects me enough to send the deposit I usually have a good time too. Its more relaxed and its less intimidating. They're generally respectful and understand that I'm a human being that is deserving of mutual respect.

There is no downside to deposits on my end. Only positives. Like someone said, make sure they're real and trustworthy and deposits shouldn't be an issue.
