LL and SP providers at Ottawa - Deposit scams

The word deposit in our world directly implies to “SCAM”.
I will never ever put myself in a vulnerable spot by failing prey to “ DEPOSIT”.
Guys please learn your lesson.

All scammers might ask for deposits, but that doesn’t mean all those who ask for deposits are scammers! Quite the opposite, the providers who are the most trustworthy mainly asked for deposits. I’ve met many clients who have never been scammed one dime in a decade and routinely send deposits. That doesn’t make them prey or naive but selective and careful who they do business with.

You’re free to set your own policies of course. I’m just making the case that the best way to improve your safety and have consistently great dates is to simply do research and book proven, reliable companions. This is the same in any industry!

I don't agree with people having to send the full amount and I don't agree with people having to send half.

Respectfully I have to disagree.
Every provider operates differently. I require a 50% deposit for all my bookings.
This has worked well for me and as you said, weeds out undesirable clients.
A 50% deposit means that the client is 100% likely to show up, and is genuinely serious in meeting me.
In the event the client has to cancel/reschedule, at least my unbillable hours are covered. Travel to my Incall, gas money, and the time it takes to get myself ready for my client all adds up. Sometimes this can be an additional 3-4hrs out of my day, just for one booking. Less now that I don’t have as long of a commute. But these hours are typically unbillable and go completely to waste if a client cancels or NCNS.
When you factor in all these extra hours involved, (not to mention time spent communicating, doing admin work, marketing online, going to appointments for hair/nails/waxes, making travel plans for touring, booking hotels or in calls, rent for our own Incall, supplies, toys, outfits, etc etc etc - all the overhead costs you don’t see on the consumer side) I hope this helps clients understand why we need deposits to insure our livelihood and bottom line doesn’t get fucked around with.

This is hopefully also a good reminder of why some of us charge what we charge so that there is also a reasonable profit margin AFTER all the aforementioned business expenses.
(Oh and since I don’t charge my clients HST - take another 13% out of that since I have to eat that cost too.)

Deposit scams are not the only risk you take by booking an unverified provider. These scenarios might not be particularly common, but you could also potentially be drugged and robbed, assaulted, threatened by a pimp, extorted, doxxed or entrapped by LE. And quite frequently you will encounter a bait & switch, shitty service or a bad attitude. I have no idea why anyone would take these risks when it’s so easy to locate verified, reputable providers. We do also ask for deposits but have earned this trust through years of demonstrably fair dealings and reliable behaviour.

If you’re going to look for providers on Leolist, know that it is just as scammy as Facebook marketplace is for tradespeople. Always do some research to verify this person is who they say they are and has a good reputation for professionalism, not just great oral skills. You can do this by checking their website, social media, their circle of friends & duo partners, reviews and other groups they are members of. The absence of any of this corroborative information speaks for itself.

Dear team ,

this is my first post here so please bare with me apologies if I do some first mistakes here..

I am traveling all over the world on business and never had the “challenges” as I had this week at Ottawa .

I have found LL and browsed till I took a decision to try a couple of offerings .

all of these SPs where insisting on pre deposits with pre paid gift cards . I immediately denied because that not the way it works anywhere around the world ( EU or Asia , I have allot of good reviews and recommendations in case needed ).

with the first SP - she insisted on 100CD deposit via gift card . I have sent 2 x 50CD online numbers . She immediately said that they are not good and can’t be verified. While trying to convince me to send more .. I bailed.

with the second one - the same … but this time I have sent only the first 50CD. She said it’s not working also . After I have tried it myself and redeemed the second 50CD successfully I have understood that this is the system and bailed .

I have lost 150CD. I have started reading allot and got here

what I don’t get is that any other SP I have tried on LL Ottawa was the same - please send 100CD deposit via gift card.

Is there any way to find REAL and VERIFIED out call service in Ottawa?

There is 5 pages of verified providers on tryst, plus the best ladies right here on the forum .
