Ripping huge farts!

A week ago Monday, I had my first round of chemotherapy, two days worth. They gave me medication to take which turned to be even worse poison than the chemo. On Wednesday I was able to hold it down after chasing it with pho broth. Thursday was a different matter, no pho broth, my brain sent my stomach the signal "get that garbage outta there". I'll spare the gory details of what happened next, it lasted from Thursday afternoon until 5:00 AM Friday morning.

This week was somewhat better, I felt like Curly Howard. He said he tried to think but nothing happened, I had waves of nausea but nothing happened. I was told by the nurse who administered the chemo that I could eat what I wanted but I had to avoid alcohol and spicy food. I tested what she told by having Thai Green Curry for lunch. Not long after, I had the most horrendous after taste in my mouth. It was like I had eaten Ceiling Cat's pussy with Homelander eyes. Then it got spectacular, the spirit of Andre the Giant possessed me. I started ripping some of the longest, loudest farts in my life...it was extraordinary. Needless to say that new Korean Restaurant that opened up in my neighbourhood will have to wait. My oncologist will have to explain why she though I could handle two poisons at once.

Jake explains how Andre got the Fezzik role in The Princess Bride.

At a SP near me
I’m sorry you have to go through this. My dad lasted 2 weeks of chemo and gave up on it as it was an horrendous experience for him.

Hope you have better results.

They beat me up thoroughly with no restbite before the chemo, they took 32 vials of blood. I wear a full shirt when I'm out in public, I look like a fuckin junkie without one. The secondary poison they gave me is called SPS (Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate), apparently my pre hike meal of a peanut butter and banana wrap was not good for me. If this is ever prescribed for you, reject it with extreme prejudice. The oncologist also told me to wear a mask in public, which makes me feel weird. These days I'm the only one wearing one, everyone else has gone back to normal.

Andre appears to have left me.

I decided to reject chemo. I attended MD Anderson. They recommended Immunotherapy . After 8 infusion , i had no side effects and life is somewhat back to normal. I do go to MD Anderson every 6 months for checkup. There are so many immunotherapy for all different type of cancer available but health Canada has only approved few of them.

I had to do that once. Doctor was confused, he said" Why would you call me the N word, I'm Albanian FFS"

Hey I don't make the rules, I just follow them.

I'm assuming Oakvilleguy's father didn't have access to zofran, anti-nausea medication the oncologist put me on. I should have asked what type of chemo I was on. I'll know as I'm scheduled for another round after Remembrance Day. You're right about the loss of tastebuds, which is why I went for the Thai Green Curry. Not expecting the horrid mouth feel I had aftermath...like I'd just eaten Sexy Hucka's rancid pussy. I couldn't get away with one cheek sneaks after I went Andre, everybody would have known.

thumper what were you diagnosed with, I have Non Hogkins Lymphoma. Being such a hard luck guy, the Mario Lemeiux version was not in the cards.

In other news Bill Maher should invite Francesca Fiorentini on Real Time.

I had a buddy who was given immunotherapy here at Princess Margaret as a "last resort" and it worked. Evidently covered by OHIP . You must have paid a huge amount at MD Anderson ?

I hope your father was given Dilaudid during his final days, he would have gone out with a smile on his face.

John Lennon was addicted to Dilaudid, even wrote a song about the experience.

When he was in his final stages, it was fentanyl patch...he was alright and he accepted his fate...when he chose not to go for chemo I guess he knew what's ahead.

At PMH they could not come up with DX. The problems in Canada they do not perform mutation study after Bone Marrow biopy. What I have is very rare forum of blood cancer. I decided to attend MD Anderson, after BM and genetic mutation. Proper DX was made. In Canada there is not one single hematologist who is familiar with the condition at the time of my DX.

PMH now has hired top doctors from Dana Fabre on contract basis to teach their faculty. Health Canada still does not allow mutation studies. Unreal. I have been in Clinical remission for almost 7 years.

Grazie Sonic Temple. The chemo I was given were riTUXimab and Bendamustine. I was given documentation to read through but it was very dry. So I smoked a joint with my nephew in law, I was able to concentrate on getting through it.

I did four bags on Monday, at about halfway through the third bag my hands were on fire and I had the hiccups. So I asked the gay nurse (not that there's anything wrong with it) if he could get me an ice pack. I went through three, by the time I was done my hands had cooled and the hiccups were gone. The nurses looking after me were surprised, they didn't know you could get rid of hiccups with an ice pack on the stomach.

When my GP (who's young enough to be my son) suggested I may have cancer, he asked where I wanted to go for discovery. I said, I don't care, I want the best, so he booked appointments for me at Humber River Hospital. He was right, the staff there has been exceptional, I couldn't have asked for better care. I like Sonic Temple's GIF, I'm going to take it one step further.
