Lewis vs Klitschko--Predictions.

Is Lennox lewis really that stupid to actually believe he was winning that fight before it was stopped.

Poor George Foreman was showing signs of punch-drunkeness last night. He actually told Jim Lampley that, even in his prime, he couldn't have handled Lennox Lewis. Sure, George. You knocked out Joe Frazier in two rounds and you couldn't handle a bum like Lewis...

Lewis would have been unranked when Foreman was in his prime. Of course, very few 7 year olds have been ranked heavyweights;-)

George knows what he is talking about. The man was just being honest that he couldn't take away Lewis' jab. Lewis has better defense, hand speed, and much more size/ reach.. Styles make fights. In boxing if A beats B and B beats C ..A doesn't not always beat C.

Who cares that he destroyed Frasier in 2 rounds. Joe couldn't take power. Lennox and Joe were 2 totally different fighters in just about every way. Joe was a brawler, not much of a boxer and couldn't handle the Foreman power. Lewis is shot and he still reigns at almost 38 years of age.

I don't quite understand why you bring up the A-B-C argument since Frazier (obviously) never fought Lewis.

The point I was trying to make was that the heavyweights of the 1970's were a formidable bunch, unlike those of the last 15 years.

Hand speed?? Lewis is a big, slow heavyweight with a right hand that can be dangerous against lousy fighters. Just who has he beaten?

Which of these 70's heavyweights could Lummox Lewis have beaten (prime vs. prime, of course)?

Dunno. Would Ali have beaten Louis? Would a Louis in his prime have beaten Marciano? What about Tyson, who hit his prime much earlier than Lewis, but is the same age?

Point is, who knows? That's the beauty of debating athletes from different eras, especially in boxing. I tend to think that each era is better than the last, as humans evolve -- but in the heavyweight division I'm not so sure...!

Foreman said he could never beat Lennox in their primes. This came outta his mouth. You know better than him? The guy has been around boxing for 40 years.

You bring up the heavy`s of the 70`s but it was a far different era. The guy today are much bigger and stronger (from chemical means like all other sports). George Foreman was a monster of his day at 218lbs. Lennox at his best weights 245lbs.The current crop of fighters are always getting ripped to shreads. This has happened in every era.

I bought a whole lot of boxing magazines from the 70`s during the glory years of the heavy division and it said all the same stuff.Foreman, Ali, Norton , Frasier and Holmes were all ripped to shreds. I was surprised when I first read it, but not now. Old timers always claim everything was better in "their day".

Norton was said to be a bum with a glass jaw that got ko`d by Jose Luis garcia..a total bum not even ranked in the top 25 at the time. Earnie Shavers ,Cooney, Foreman took him out fast. His only decent win in his whole career was a descision over a past prime slowing Ali who still beat him 2 outta 3.

If Norton represents your top 5 of the 70`s, it doesn`t say much.

Both Frazier and Norton made a name off a past prime Ali who lost much of his speed...

Either way, Lummox has a few hundred million dollars, what do you have besides a bottle of moisturizer?
