Legal issues?

I'm pretty new to the hobby, and this is probably my biggest fears.
I have talked to a few people about it and none of them seem worried.

Just wondering if any of you have ever run into any legal issues and if you don't mind sharing your story.

Stay away from SPs that you have even the slightest of inklings might be underage and you will likely never run into issues.

This is why I do my best to avoid SPs that claim to be in their early 20s and certainly avoid all who claim to be 18 or 19. I naturally like older women so that helps.

Do your homework here first on TERB - and get comfortable with agencies in your area. While there will always be a 'risk' there is decades of proof here that you can enjoy this lifestyle without any issue - unless you're married/dating and get caught - but that's not a legal issue until you get divorce papers, lol.

Best advice there is !

Avoid all classidied ads website. Maybe later when you are more seasoned you may give it a try, but as a beginner plenty of totally safe providers (both in term of LE and traditional) in reputed agencies or as indies that advertise on the "erb" familly (terb.merb, perb)

The biggest problem with classified ads tough is not LE, i don't think i ever saw a client post about this... But you never know you could be unlucky...

The biggest problem is actually scam artist, bad providers, theft... Bait and Switch (use fake pictures). This is comon in classified ads.

Yeah i have read a lot about that so i assume its decently common, but I had not read anything about people running into any legal issues or maybe some sort of string (I probably watch too many movies )

^Only well publicized sting in recent times was by York Regional Police with underage girls. The police would set up fake ads on BackPage. When you contact them they made it clear the girl is underage. Guys that booked anyway and showed up got arrested.

If it wasn’t for leolist you guys be lost. There are plenty of reputable providers on leolist, just stay away from the youngish ones and you’ll be fine.

You should start with a Google of 'Criminal Code prostitution' and scan the C-36 Forum right at the top of the Lounge page, to introduce yourself to what the law actually is. C-36 was the previous Harper government's idea of bringing our laws up-to-date. The earliest posts date from when C-36 was first proposed, the most recent deal with the results, now that it's the law of the land.
