Good news also that Hutchinson seems to have redeemed himself as a back-up goalie. He played a very decent game against Detroit in gaining his first win of the season!

The most exciting game ever.
Canes have tremendous speed.
They built their team originally with defensemen.
Now they have offense.
They look legit.
Two hot teams going toe to toe.
Some brilliant goals.
Particularly by Marner from Matthews to start the comeback.
Marner to Barrie to tie it.
Seconds later Marner does it all on his own for winner.
Didn't see any trenches. Or anyone knocking Leafs around. Pure speed and skill.
One person thinks Marner sucks. No need for me to mention his name.
Canes can make good plays on offense. Their PP is the hottest in the league right now. Leafs PP hot as well.
Marner with Matthews looks so much better than Nylander with Matthews. They just look dominant. With Hyman too of course.
Leafs still with most wins in the division in last 10 games.

Hyman out there with Matthews and Marner when they need goals.
Hyman out there with Tavaras and Engvall/SoupMan to protect goalie out lead.
Hyman on Penalty kill which is much improved.
Hyman injured to start season and Leafs suffer early.

Boston 9 OT losses, 8 of which are at home but only 1 regulation loss at home. 0-5 in the shootout. Somehow Boston is finding ways to get points.

Where the fans that said Marner should be traded? Marner is over-rated? A 5 point performance not enough I guess.

I didn't get to watch the game, Christmas can be torture.

Checking the box scores, Hyman has changed the complexion of the team, if the Leafs had two more like him they'd make it to the Cup Final. AM was picking up bad habits lining up with Wilma, he was scoring goals but his back checking was a joke. If he plays with Marner regularly he could become unstoppable. Hopefully playing alongside the workhorse Tavares will smarten Wilma up. I'm hoping that Mikheyev and Engvall will develop into intangible players as well. And the Russian doesn't have to worry about Don Cherry back biting him like Zaitsev did.

When Scotty Bowman was coaching Les Habitants, he was asked about team defense. He said, "a good offense is the best defense". Maybe it can get the Leafs into the Playoffs.

I have followed and supported the leafs for over 30 but I’m done with them , I am now one of the haters you speak of .
I will bet you a 45 min session they don’t even make the playoffs .

At 6 - 6 Canes call a time out to stem the Leafs momentum.
It gave Mitch time to catch his breath and right off the faceoff he does his thing.

Matthews looks inspired and intense. He played this way vs Washington in his first playoff series.
I agree when he's out with Nylander he looks like he floats around like him.

Envall is what Leafs hoped Gauthier would develop into. 7th rounder vs 1st rounder

22 vs 20 that's 2 more wins. 2 of 20 is 10% more wins
20 vs 16 that's 4 more wins. 4 of 16 is 25% more wins.
So Boston has 10% more wins than Toronto and Toronto has 25% more wins than Ottawa.
Does that answer your question?

Who said anything about Ottawa being a bad team? They're not the Wings.
The point was don't think of Boston as being far superior.

Leafs were better when they had Hyman and Komarov.

Why would anyone complain about Marner? Dennis Green said, "he is what we thought he was". As for Hyman, he's a motivational workhorse, excellent in the locker room...and he's got a gorgeous schnaz.

The leafs are a better team with Hyman in the lineup. He skates hard and he’s fearless. Keeps the opposition on edge. If you recall the 8-6 game he was high sticked in the face early and dazed. He wasn’t skating hard and was playing soft as a result for a period and a half. When he picked up his game late it coincided with the Leafs comeback.
