No one is removing LCBO control.
It's expanding products into private stores. LCBO still controls the distribution.

My own personal opinion is that the government should get out of the retail business. But that's not what they're proposing.
Where will the $2.5 billion that is funding health care and education come from, if not the LCBO, skoob?
Why give that money to billionaires instead of keeping it?

No, skoob.
Pay for work is not charity, its the opposite.

Who says paying for work is charity? Is that you twisting words again?
Rewarding someone with more money just because they have a job but wished they had invested in themselves is charity.

They'll make more when more stores are able to sell liquor and less money goes into maintaining their own retail stores.
More liquor sales, less expenses, more taxes right?

But despite my wish that get rid of LCBO stores completely, that's not what they're proposing.

Why do you think private stores will send Ontario their profit, skoob?

Who said that?
Oh right, this is the part of the program where you just start making shit up.

That's how everyone knows when you've lost an argument.

The LCBO collects profit from retail stores and sends that back as dividends.
Do you think private stores will send back the profit from retail sales, skoob?
They don't have to. They will buy from the LCBO and with more than 3 times the number of retail outlets selling booze, LCBO could actually make more than they do now.
And if my dream comes true and they get rid of LCBO retail stores, the money saved could go towards something else.

But they're not doing that unfortunately.

What they're doing is expanding so that private stores can sell as well. More money all around.

If you're selling more booze, you're making more in taxes on that booze too.

What part of that confuses you?

I'll bet you can't find a comment from the past where you criticized the Liberal (Wynne) government when they expanded beer and wine sales to grocery stores. It was okay then, but now that it's the big, bad PC (Ford) government, all of a sudden it's a major problem.

If your dream comes true it will cost Ontario $2.5 billion a year.
Imagine a provincial government attacking an Ontario business that gives Ontario $2.5 billion just so his buddies can make the money instead.
Total traitor to the province.

First off, providing a source written by the current government in power is not really a source...it's an advertisement or PR piece.

I'm not sure what chart you are looking at but Canada is at the bottom...
The US has been on the same trajectory since 2009 (other than the pandemic). Is your point that the big bad capitalist society of the US is doing very well in comparison?
REALLY, you didn't click on the link or you did and ignored it is more like it

More misleading info from you.
The province will make more with expanding to private stores.

As far as I'm concerned they aren't going far enough. They're still keeping the stores unfortunately.

They're not attacking businesses, they're actually helping them. That's what government should do and not be in the retail business giving charity jobs to under-achievers.

Ok, lets say 9% instead of 10%.
Where are those 9% of people supposed to get other jobs?

Do you want every youth to have to stay at home even after they get their first jobs because they can't afford housing and food?
You must be a manager at 7 Eleven, you hate workers, hate the youth and think everyone is lazy and under achievers next to the glory of your manager's job.

DoFo already spent $1 billion of Ontario money to cancel the Beer store contract, now he wants to give the $2.5 billion from the LCBO to billionaires.

DoFo is still a “ dealer” and is priming Ontario for a provincial election call ahead of the federal bloodbath election

Cheers and jeers , maybe some tears…..

This is an idiotic claim, skoob.
Explain how you think this will happen.
I already did a few posts ago...if you would actually read rather than just going on the attack you would know that.

So you couldn't even see the data you said came from there?
Where did you get your chart from?

Clearly you never checked to see if it was legit.
Such an easy mark.
Do you read anything or just go on the attack as a reflex?

I said where I got it from.
I showed that what I was given was unreadable.
I provided my info from the same website.

How about you actually read before spewing nonsense.
