Where did I say this, about CEOs and how do food prices factor into the LCBO strike? But when CEO ask for higher margins you won't question it.
They told you, "fuck you, we won't lower food prices." and you continue to kiss their ass.
Congratulations. Well deserved victory that serves us all well.I am a part-time LCBO staff member who works there only in the summer, so you can guess my other job.
Everyone on the line was very happy with the outcome. OPSEU, in the face of modernization, basically guaranteed everyone's jobs for the length of the contract, limited agency stores, and created over 1000 new jobs. Previous to that, the LCBO came to the table with none of these things cause they thought we were just weak, and wouldnt defend ourselves.
For those who talk about the low wage increase, it was never about money, the pay was always good for the job? How many cashiers do you know who start at $20 an hour and top out over $30 an hour? We kept if public, we saved our middle class jobs. I am extremely proud of the outcome and the positivity of everyone on the line.
Look forward to happily seeing you all Tuesday!
The government agreed to that 1,000 conversion prior to you going on strike. They had not agreed to the other things you mentioned or the hiring of 60 new full time employees. Was that worth pissing off millions of consumers? I guess time will tell. I do know this for sure - I will not be spending as much of my money at LCBO in the future.I am a part-time LCBO staff member who works there only in the summer, so you can guess my other job.

No, they really did not.The government agreed to that 1,000 conversion prior to you going on strike. They had not agreed to the other things you mentioned or the hiring of 60 new full time employees. Haha. I support strong decent jobs for the middle class but I'd much prefer if our government provided the business environment to create those instead of spending taxpayer money to do so. Thanks for playing. No, they really did not.
If people fighting for their rights to keep middle class, decent jobs makes you angry, sorry for you. I know it's hard not to look at the situation and try and use it as an excuse to feel superior instead of looking out for your common man.
I'd love to know exactly how tax payer money funds us. Really tell me because I don't want to reveal how the LCBOs profits and wages are paid with nontax sources, I want you to try and figure it out yourself.Haha. The LCBO provides $2.5 billion a year to the people of Ontario.Haha. I support strong decent jobs for the middle class but I'd much prefer if our government provided the business environment to create those instead of spending taxpayer money to do so. Thanks for playing.
This could go on for a while.
Looks like you are proof that the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.Skoobie Doo….you remind me of my 90 year old grandmother and her cronies in the nursing home. She didn’t have any education either.
Getting good wages for a job that doesn't warrant good wages is rewarding under-achievers on everyone else's dime as a reward for failure. Why do you hate it so much when people make decent wages?
The LCBO brings in $2.5 billion a year and pays people well.
Why kill this just to have booze everywhere?
Because scanning a bottle of booze is what everyone who invests in themselves aspires to do as a career. The nerve of them wanting to have full-time employment and a share of the equity.
If this keeps up, they might even ask for sick days.
Per capita in Alberta is higher despite being mostly privatized which shatters the illusion that public is the better way.A whopping $18 difference. And Alberta hasn't had a population boom yet.
