I disagree with the author’s POV
“Civil liberties are being compromised by emergency measures at all levels of government in a way that would have seemed outrageous just a few weeks ago, but which most people now seem to agree is necessary to fight the spread of COVID-19.”
The lockdown did its job. The numbers are down. Time to return to work to prevent a repeat of the Great Depression of 1929. It’s clear where the lockdown needs to continue, in the long term care homes and those over 60. Masks for everyone. This is what the Governments need to work on.
Prohibition will be the next thing the Governments want to try!!

I think there's more to the story about this guy and also the Oakville family who was fined $880 for rollerblading in a park. I bet both parties gave the bylaw officer a lot of lip rather than just sucking it up and walking away. If they did what they were told they wouldn't have been fined and wouldn't have to go to the media to get attention.

The rule is to not use the furniture... well playgrounds, benches etc. Because you don't know who used it before and if they were infected others could catch it.

That's true, but here are the quotes from the Oakville family. I would bet he's leaving out a bit. If the father would have just left and then, under his breath, called the bylaw officer an ass hole, he would have saved $880 for a nice family meal once this pandemic ends.
