Thanks for the info. The dual core on Acer shows 1.6 Ghz speed. Is that better than a 1.8 Ghz single?asn said:have you taken a look at the dual core notebooks that just came out....those would probably be better to get...and they are around the same price....acer aspire 5620 is $1700 CDN
Dual core sounds like a good idea but has little benefit in real world UNTIL software developers rewrite their applications to take advantage of hyperthreading or multi-processing. The main benefit with dual core today is lower battery life ... As you are only running 1/2 the processor.Meister said:Thanks for the info. The dual core on Acer shows 1.6 Ghz speed. I mostly use it for Office stuff, AutoCAD 2D (some 3D), CorelDraw
A troll who says he works at Microsoft and drives a Mercedes (daddy's maybe) told a SP that she got a great deal, it was worth 1700. She paid 1100 including tax with a mouse and a router at some piss ass computer shop he took her to. The shop owner didn't give her the bill. You'd think he'd give her a break since she's helping him evade his taxes.asn said:dude what do you want to use it for? just surfing the net? games? editing photographs? if all your going to do is surf the net then it's more than enough

Apparently, this chip runs 20% faster than centrino 2 GHz.
Unfortunately, I have to wait another week to get it because it is so new.
Thanx for the link. The price difference is XP Home vs. Pro. However, they seem to have stock, so I think I will stop by and check it out.Homer07 said:The Acer Aspire is a solid choice. Seen it the other day, and it looks pretty nice. One of the best valued dual core notebooks.... CanadaSys has it for $100 less than your link.
