I'm in Korea at the moment, and I thought I'd report on the scene here briefly.
Went to red light district yesterday not unlike Amsterdam. All girls 8-10's. You drive your car through rows of them This is the best of such areas and only Korean escorted guys can go in. Hotel prices can get pretty high..on the international city level with European cities etc. Luckily my hotel was paid by Korean business interests...which left me with sufficient play money

There are definitely some ins and outs to the place. One red light district is basically off limits to foreigners, and as one guy wrote "He'd never seen a country with picky hookers"..but they are here.
Unfortunately I went to one place which said 'No insertion for foreigners' while my Korean friend got full service. He also added that Korea and Japan are the two most racist countries on earth..which may be true.

A word of warning. Bring your own condoms. I had been warned but couldn't quite believe it. Korean ones are about 3" long, and feel like you're being squeezed into an elasticated thimble. Having travelled a fair bit of the world I would say that this is very likely true. However, it is worthwhile to mention that must of their racial hatred is reserved for each other.

I thought I had experienced racism the U.S. - it is nothing compared to the outright hostility and belief in racial superiority you see in Japan.

A little diversion off the racist path...

I have been to a number of Korean massage places in the US, and they are great. The services I have experienced are very similar to the ones mentioned by the original poster, including rim jobs, body slides, pearls, and full service.

However, most of these places only offer these complete services to their Asian clients, at least at first. I guess you could consider this a discriminatory practice - just like the proverbial two different price lists at a restaurant for tourists and locals.

But once you've established yourself, the service is outstanding, and you are assured to get it thereafter. The girls are always young, thin, and cute. And they seem to rotate through, with a new crop arriving everyone few months. Biggest drawback is most of these girls can't speak English very well, but I guess that is no different from the Russian SP scene here in TO.

Well... Japanese may not be Racists... but they're definately xenophobic?

I think it has to do with the way Western Countries treated Asians in the past...

It's no excuse, but it's ingrained in their culture : (

One way around it is if you learn their culture (ie speak their language fluently), often times they will let their guard down quickly.

I disagree. There is a reason why nearly every asian nation (especially Korea and China) in the area hates the Japanese. Their atrocities to their asian neighbors in the early 1900's were just as bad as any in recent history. At least the Germans have apologized for their crimes against humanity. Japan has yet to issue an apology and continues to gloss over their history books as to what really happened.

They are less racist towards caucasian americans and europeans, as they are regarded as still a novelty and exotic - if not a bit uncultured, then towards their asian neighbors and people of other ethic origins.

I will try to avoid the racist conversation from getting out of hand....but let's just say that massage parlours have a 2 payment system in Korea (almost double for foreigners). I have lived there on 5 ocassions, and am well aware of overt racism towards whites, blacks and other Asian nations (particularly Japanese) to some extent. I was at a money changer the other day, who told the African in front of me (in traditional clothes) that she had no US currency, then after he left, she gave me over $1000 USD. I was reading the other day about foreigners trying to meet Japanese girls though chat lines regularly receiving messages telling them to fuck off and die and get out of Japan. I read some of them. Japan of course has many many no go places for foreigners. In Asia in general, caucasians are thought of as dirty (which is partially true as Koreans and Japanese are the least sweat producing people on earth). I could go on, but back to sex.

I think the reason why SO shy away from foreigners in Korea is primarily do to perceived awkwardness due to total lack of communication. Therefore, if you are with a Korean, who can at least lay out the rules for you, they are more at ease. In addition, traditionally half the white guys in Korea (or more) are US soldiers who (I hate to say it) are largely assholes.

I can't speak for Korea, but I can for Japan. Japan maintains the purity of their race, but not all Japanese think this way. The communication issue is the highest definition for this. Many westerners do not speak Japanese, nor do they act properly towards the customs of the Japanese, nor respect the culture of the Japanese. Speaking Japanese is not enough as their exists honourific styles of speech that must be used during certain occassions. There are many Foreigners that live in Tokyo, but extremely less in the North and West of the country.

In their "sex industry", the Japanese (and frankly neither do I), don't like to deal with the stand up arrogance of Westerners. Westerners think if the service isn't what they expect, they can simply go to their local "Attourney General". Westerners will also fake a complaint to get what they want. If the Japanese did such a fake, they lose their honor. So the Westerners have to prove their honor and that takes lots of time. Also, unfortunately, Westerners are physically bigger than Japanese and, if trouble existed, there would be a very difficult situation they do not need to deal with.

Outside, in general Japanese society, I have found very few amounts of racism, but it does exist....not a problem with me. Racism also exists in the USA and I'll be the first to say, I'd accept the Japanese style in a Tokyo second over the USA. No need to ride a train and hear black teenagers calling other black teens "Niggers" infront of Caucasions and other people, while holding a pistol on the local transit system. Terrorists if you ask me, with no credible law enforcement to stopthat shit for good. It is so much better away from that BS as it has not changed. And since the USA barely has a sex industry with religious groups and their Taliban interpretation of this thing called a bible, the Buddists have to keep their religion under wraps a little.
