I tried the generic round up and it did nothing.
Went back to Home Depot and got the round up they keep locked up, even got a little note from the government about how I am not supposed to use it on anything except a few plants [which I ignored because fuck them] the foamy stuff, and it did nothing.

I really don't want to cross the New York border with the good stuff. My parental unit used to get the good shit from a farmer relative but alas he is dead, I don't know which one, don't speak the French and I suspect they live close to the NB border.

So what to do. Weed Be Gone? I suspect it will be garbage like Roundup. doing it by hand isn't going to happen for reasons, and it's an area that I'd like to keep totally plant free [it's gravelish and I should just pave it over]
I am close to Quebec, do they sell anything to the muggles that actually works?

Pull the weeds out by hand.

A neighbour once showed my how a tiny bit of gasoline works wonders. Just sayin'.
Thinking about burning it, but knowing my luck... also there is a wood retaining wall just next to it, granted it's in real need of replacement but still.

I have creeping charlie in my back yard and its bullet proof. I've tried products that golf courses use and no results.
The products sold in Canada work on some weeds but it takes awhile. For example dandelions, thistles, clover.

The consumer Roundup sold in Ontario is usually vinegar. Acetic Acid. Nothing else.

You need glyphosphate RoundUp. It will say so on the label and is usually locked up. It is sold. already diluted in Onrario. Look for the ingredients to contain glyphosphate, not acetic acid.

According to Ontario laws:

"You cannot use pesticides that contain certain ingredients, including:
  • 2,4-D
  • Diazinon
  • glyphosate
These pesticides are banned for cosmetic purposes because they may pose an unnecessary risk to human health, particularly children’s health."

Glyphosate’s illegal use is an open secret

Homeowners who use glyphosate for cosmetic purposes are breaking the law. It is fine to use glyphosate to protect your health and safety, but not for any other purpose. Not for weeds and grasses in sidewalk cracks, and not for unwanted vegetation on gravel driveways.

It would seem odd that glyphosate is available on store shelves everywhere. Box stores, hardware stores and even grocery stores sell glyphosate. Odd, because the only logical purpose for glyphosate is to kill poison ivy, and perhaps stinging nettle and thistle.

Glyphosate is not an instant gratification herbicide. There are a few brands that have been modified to work within three to five days, but the standard product requires seven to 10 days to show results.

I pay weedman an initial $345 package and subsequent seasons $175 to maintain it...so far my lawn is getting better... they come once a month for the next 6 months...IMO the more clients they have in the area the better...

I use straight vinegar in a pump sprayer and it works well. It's a pile less expensive too. I get 2 large bottles at Costco for $7.00. It goes a long way.

If I want quick results I burn using a weed burner that I got on amazon. It works amazingly well.

Ultimately, paving the area is ideal if you want a permanent solution.

Also use vinegar and the sprayer, however, to every 4 litres of vinegar I add, 1/2 cup of salt and 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap.

Note the higher the concentration of the vinegar, the better it appears to work. example 10% better than 5.

Not if won't. It's a concente and if diluted properly, it'll only kill weeds, but not your grass. I used it multiple times for my lawn and it never killed grass. And what golf course would use a weed killer that kills grass? Just think about it for a moment.
