Linda O'Leary found not guilty of carelessly operating a vessel.
No surprise there and the right verdict IMHO. The victim's boat had their lights off stopped in the middle of the lake. When the Cops reenacted the event by trying to determine how difficult it was to see a boat with its lights off, they almost collided with it, calling off the exercise as it was deemed too dangerous. The reason this case was so vigorously defended was there was going to be several civil liability suits. This should nullify any lawsuits or at least help O'Leary's defense.
