Usually it's just his lawyers doing the stalling. Shouldn't a Trump appointed Judge recuse herself when Cheeto is the defendant?
All methods of selecting judges have problems though.
The best you can do is have a system that has various checks and balances and try to encourage a judicial/legal culture that minimizes the problem.
What we are seeing now is partly the structural problems and partly a 50-year campaign to destroy that idea of a neutral judicial culture.
Just another example of the disdain for democracy which now characterizes what now passes for the gop.
