Judge beats the crap out of his daughter for going online and downloading

Without revealing to much eprosnall about me...I have provided foster care and volunteered in CAS environments and worked at group homes in order to help kids thata re part of the crown ward system....sometimes in Ontario a single incident of a hit form a parent with an object (deemed a weapon) will result in a visit (if reported say by a teacher noticing a welt) form CAS and a warning to the parents to never do that again.

The kind of incident in this video would result in the child being removed from the situation (police would be with CAS to do this), both parents charged and certainly the father getting jail time and dis-barred.

By the same token, if I had been a parent that had faced him in court on a child abuse charge etc, I would also be likely to try and claim a mis-trial of some sort as well (obviously I am not supportive of people doing this and having ended up in the court system) but that may be the other side of the coin as well

After being shown the video, this afternoon Judge Adams responded to the tape.

He said: 'It happened years ago.. I apologized. It's not as bad as it looks on tape.'

Perhaps it should be pointed out that this is another elected state judgeship. Hence other than the electoral process, and the legal requirements to hold the office there was no vetting the way there is in systems with appointed and confirmed judgeships.


Further, a couple of seemingly obvious comments: There is a huge difference between spanking a child and beating them (16 stokes) with a belt. By the time a person is 16 if you aren't able to work out parent - child differences via something other than corporal punishment you have true problems.

Saw the mother and daughter on Today show this morning. Tape is 7 yrs old, didn't get good answer as to why now? Mother on tape was not defending the daughter, in fact she told the daughter to take it like a 16 year old, WTF does that mean? Mother didn't have good answer as to why she didn't try to stop her husband beating the daughter. Weird, regardless, if the old man ever gets to prison for this he better watch out for the belt whipping from other inmates.

Mom was probably terrified of the father, I saw her whack her daughter once and hard, that was it.
She tried to buy time, but then again, I skipped through a lot of it, my patience runs thin for watching lengthy videos online and if they're not all that interesting or a bit too disturbing, no thanks.
She wouldn't give the belt to the hubby and of course the psycho father couldn't wait seeing the wife wasn't going to give her the belt and said he was going to get another belt...lol wtf??????? Absolute nutjob.

Kids or teens that are actually physically assaulted and beaten wind up with bruises, scars, broken bones, become runaways, and so forth.

The punishment did not fit her "crime" and she is too old to be given the belt. However, she provoked the situation by not turning around. He told her to turn around many times and she wouldn't do it which infuriated him further.

The judge has a temper and may not be fit to be a parent or judge, but people are making this bigger than it is.

What he did to his daughter, is the kind of punishment that has been deemed illegal in prisons for decades.

As for this comment she didn't turn around.

The mother stated she had already spanked her before the father was on the video.

The mother told her after the father left if she got on her stomach she would spank her once, which she did with the belt.. then her father returned, and what was he angry about now ?

"i didn't get my licks in"

And don't forget this comment from her when she wouldn't turn around for him the first time.

"Bend over or Ill spank you in the fucking face"

That is not discipline, that is a criminal act of threatening to do harm to someone.

Actually it almost made me throw up...frankly I can't recall seeing something this disturbing. Poor girl. Not sure if the verbal abuse is even worse than the physical, what a shame. Truly shocking that parents could do this. Wow.

The only reason I think the verbal could be worse is I suspect there has simply been more of it , and being told you are not good enough to live in this house can cut some very deep wouunds.

Its not just the physical abuse but the damage done when a parent betrays the trust of a child and destroys the security of their world. The mental damage lives on far after the physical abuse heals.
