I would rather go to The Reign and taste the carpaccio myself. If it's bresaola I'll still eat it, I happen to enjoy beef salumi.

Unfortunately I'm not going anywhere for awhile. I'm fighting cancer, I don't travel beyond my neighbourhood.
I am sorry you are going through this! I hope it will be a successful fight and you get that carpaccio.

Spring is at the door and who says spring, also says long walk in the streets of Toronto. Eating all this food sure comes with his load of exercise so twice a week or so, I go on long trek and explore Toronto's neighborhoods and try a new restaurant.

One of my favorite is Queen St. Wether you are looking for a dispensary (it's kind of a running joke on this street), food or little market with specialized products this is certainly one of the place to go!

I generally start my trek around Dundas st and walk all the way to the CN tower and here are a few places that I loved!

First stop, Bom Dia Cafe and Bakery
Located at 1205 Queen St. This is the perfect authentic Portuguese café.
You can get your blood sugar leveled for less than 20$. Look at this display!

This is exactly what diabetes taste like 🤤🤤🤤.

Second stop is The Drake Café. Located in the Drake hotel at 1150 Queen St. I was coming for one thing; Their lobster roll. And that's a mean lobster roll! I matched it with those beautiful truffle fries and a drink on their very nice sunny patio. Would recommend but a bit pricey considering that if you go East Coast, you have 3 for this price fresh off the boat. Around 60$ per person, but I don't regret anything!

Last stop is The Noce. Located at 875 Queen st., it is a great Italian restaurant with a great patio. I do not have many pictures of our night there but I would go back! Once again a tad expensive, but isn't it the whole story in Toronto!?

This week my friend and I tried the Chica located at 75 Portland St. In Toronto. I was looking forward to this one as my inner fat girl was very strong on Sunday morning, and the formula all you can eat and drink was calling my name!

Nice selection of unlimited Tapas for 55$ per person and you can also go for the unlimited sangria for 45$ each. I was tipsy enough after 1 shared pitcher so maybe the unlimited sangria is not worth it for everyone. Other option is a nice selection of drink around 20$.

I sample the one in the first pic with coconut fat and lime but I cannot find the name on their menu.

The food is South American style. Nothing ground breaking but it was good and comfortable. We ordered everything in the menu. It looks a lot but it was just fine for 2. We forgot to take a picture of the pintxos. That will give you a reason to go!

Overall very cool vibe for a friendly brunch or an overnight with your favorite lover!
We left tipsy and happy and not broke.

This discovery is bitter sweet. Once one of my all time favorite, it is now slowly going down hill. Change of chef? Maybe. Bad economy? Who knows. I loved every single visit to this restaurant (visited 5 times) except the last one. I will still give them another chance.

Restaurant: Le Lapinou
Location: 642 King St W.
Price: around 150 per person with wine
Cuisine: French fusion and Tapas concept
Ambiance: lounge, dark (bistro-bar)

The Good:

My most epic visit was with 2 friends shortly after the pandemic. We usually go there for the Foie Gras but unfortunately there supplier had problems with an illness and had to kill all their duck. We still didn't let that affect our MOJO and we went for a gorgeous crown of duck, deep friend zucchini flowers (which are really not easy to find kudos), Oysters and a risotto.

Wow!

The bad:
Now I went back probably 2 months after. Complete changes of menu. Pasta and sliders. Ultimate depression. My heart was shattered and a little bit of my dreams too.

Took the Truffle pasta, the ceasar salad and the sliders. It was OK.

Hopefully the turn it around for the summer. It was my go to for duck and Foie Gras.

I still have not tried a lot on their new menu. I will go again and report back. 🤞🤞🤞
