It's a yes for me, Why not, we are a mess here.

Giving money away to natives for children's deaths that never happened. We can't defend ourselves in any confrontation even in our homes. Dollar is a peso. Poor policing and court systems. Poor military.

Open, unchecked immigration.

Interesting how the celcius/Fahrenheit thing would work.

Probably could become a powerhouse globally.

Would house prices drop to usa levels? Would homeowners have to be compensated?

What would we call it Canusa , USAda?

Most Americans are great people. Most won't want to move here, probably the opposite, we'd lose population. I'm tired of 13% sales tax, Why can't it be 5% across Canada?

it's a no for me, cumstainz...
I think Canada needs to embrace nationalism. Canada has a great opportunity right now to profit from the golden age potentially happening in the United States. By working with the US on common goals, there’s no need to join, it will profit just being strong ally.

It could be 5%…Goodbye health care, infrastructure improvements, OAS, CPP, slash Police Budgets, hard line and limit social assistance…

Wanna bet if you take a poll in the USA right now whether a section of the population would like to come under Canadian style rules, laws, govt and policy you would get at least similar numbers to the recent polling of 13% of Canadians would consider joining the USA?

Seems to me health-care, abortion rights, gun laws, less corruption(yes it is less corrupt) labor laws, more reasoned foreign policy, less religion in government, fir us far far better pooning laws, better LE overall, better justice system, and many other positives would attract a pretty good size portion of the population.

I know the Americans who joined spouses up here in my friend circle absolutely prefer it here for overall living quality.

The only thing stopping you from leaving is you.

No he can’t
Immigration is tight.

But speaking to your reply, I understand patriotism for your country but to deny US is vastly superior right now to Canada is just a lie.
Then why are you still here? Apply for a green card and enjoy the vastly superior country.

A poll on Alberta exiting Canada and/or joing the U.S. has
more merit. We (Eastern Canada) don't don't want to buy its oil
and prefer to import oil from Iran, Saudi and the U.S. And we are
also disgusted by the pollution of its oilsands and its impact on
climate change as well. They also hate both Trudeau the father and
his son. Let them decide whether they want to join Trump.

Irresponsible left Federal & provincial govts may have ensured we say goodbye to some or all of the above anyway
Nobody can borrow in perpetuity
I would vote No as we could right the ship with two / three decades of sacrifices and we owe an independent Canada to the next generations as well as past generations.
Canada should be the richest and best country in the world

That said, I would change my vote immediately to Yes if Canadians were stupid enough to re-elect the sycophants that make up the current Liberal party of Canada, or any ReinCARNEYation of the nightmare that is Justin Trudeau
