Thanks.Schools like Penn State get ten's of millions of dollars in revenue from the football program that are used to fund non-sporting parts of the school.
My take on that would be that with some students being inconvenienced, Penn State will be a less attractive school for them to return to (if already there, some could transfer) or new students to apply to. Many of the students will have some options.
End result, the fallout from the whole affair adds to the deterrent for all colleges to let something similar happen. The collateral damage to some students is unfortunate but I think it is less than the damage to Sandusky's victims.
