Bregman signed with the Cubs, so he's off the market. How will this affect Bo?

Jays will actually appear on Sunday Night Baseball this year. The Sep 6th game vs. The Royals will be the game.
The Red Sox are probably kicking themselves for trading Rafael Devers, It feels like they did that in favor of Bregman.
I'm a little tired of Cody Bellinger and Bregman being free agents every year lol like oh my God stop trying to opt out hoping you're going to cash in more and more every year. But in the case of Pete Alonzo, and the ownership of the Mets taking him for granted… I must say I like how he signed with Baltimore now. This man has been a staple of power hitting consistency for the Mets over the years and last off season, the Mets ownership made a mockery out of him in the press and basically teased him and all he was trying to do was be loyal to the organization and get the money he deserves. I have a feeling Orioles are going to have a good year. I'm an Alonso fan.

The only club willing to give Bo 300 million are the Jays, he's going to get less anywhere else.
Fuck Poilievre JR, now that we have that Japanese slugger, I'm confident that Santander will have a bounce back season and hit 40+ dingers, after all he was injured for most of 2025. Varsho is healthy and was hitting HRs at a torrid HR/AB pace last year, and will have a great 2026,

Mets have tabled an offer to Tucker short term, but high AAV somewhere around $50M per season. Might be hard to compete with that, from everything I've read, Jays / Dodgers / Mets are the final three in the running for Tucker's services.
The Mets are fucked, highest payroll in 2025 and no playoffs. Bo doesn't seem to be in a hurry to sign anywhere, he probably wants to stay in Toronto. He'll have to temper his demands just a bit and it's doable.
They said the same about Springer....but you're probably right regarding Bregman.
I don't think he's a bad player. I just don't think he's Elite anymore. Compact and dull.

I also think the Jays new batting coach isn't getting the credit he deserves. Springer, Kirk, Barger, and many others seem to have thrived with his help. Not sure if Mattingly was involved, but I was sad to see him go.
