And I feel fine!

Ok, so the Mayans, Nostradamus and lord knows who else predicts the EOTW on Dec 21, 2012. Last night I watched "Decoded" on History channel which was all about these predictions. There were many interesting conclusions drawn and it appears many people believe we may soon bite the dust. Or at minimum the earth is about to have some huge changes on that date. Floods, hurricanes, tornado's, earthquakes, solar flares etc. Personally the solar flares is what scares the crap out of me.

How do you feel about all this? Personally I'm not terribly worried. To be honest since my son died a few years ago I don't really give a crap about dying. An event like that certainly changes your perspective. Concerning the EOTW, I figure if a bunch of freaky shit starts happening this summer we can all put our heads between our legs and kiss our asses goodbye. It'll be party hardy until it's all over. If summer passes with nothing major I figure it's just another false prediction. Unless I don't wake up Dec 22..... LOL

I think interest rates will go up some time around September, as some people will start making big ticket purchases with credit cards, figuring that they'll never have to pay for the items.

Yes, and I'm sure if pressed they could find a left handed, blonde, 6'3" Jewish woman who believes Israel was behind 9/11 as well.
Or a med school dropout turned one-client SP who is stock-piling gold to make sure the future's nice and shiny!

Isn't December 21, 2012 when our Sun is on the "equator" of the Milky Way galaxy? I heard that somewhere, but I'm not sure where, or if it's true.

ask me on Dec 22, 2012

That said, I wouldn't book any trips to the middle east for the next few years. Way too unstable for a region that was wobbly at best

This isn't funny. I know somebody who watches these history channel documentaries and believes them all. Earth will end, Aliens built everything whatever. I know at least one other person who also buys into this stuff. Impossible to convince them otherwise, utterly confident they are.

If you don't know anything, it isn't hard to put together an argument that sounds very convincing and there are a lot of people out there is a colossal state of ignorance. The people behind those documentaries at this history channel really do deserve a most painful form of cancer. Even their actual history docs are of low quality, that is when they actually bother with history themed topics. As someone who is all hepped up on goofball for history, it isn't that I want them dead, I just want them to be no longer alive, sometimes I think it would be marvelous if I here an English lit fan.

It troubles me that when this channel started out it really did air programs about historical topics, many interesting a number less so.

But for several years now they have largely dumped the history programing in favour of garbage like "Ancient Astronauts," and "Decoded" it is a shame.

Decoded has really gone downhill this year, after a couple decent episodes last year.

As for the Dec 21 thing: I really don't see them predicting the end of OUR civilization any better than they predicted the end of their own.
