As much as I was hoping Kawhi would stay, I think Masai made the right move. I don't like it when a player dictates what you can and can't do. IMO it indicates weakness at the management level. LeBron does it and now it appears Kawhi is doing it too. If Siakim isn't as good as George he is damn close and has much more upside. Had Kawhi stayed I believe he would have had just as much success as he will in LA and perhaps more.
Correct! Kawhai flew (we stalked him via CP24) in gave Masia first right of refusal. We were the number one choice based on many factors.

Each has their flaws, Steve Ballmer missed the innovation boat with Microsoft, Larry Tanenbaum allowed Richard Peddie to get his foot into the the MLSE door.

On to better things. Some have said Matt Devlin is a poor substitute to Chuck Swersky. While I like Chuck, Matt's call on Siakam's dunk in the Final was epic, "Siakaaam, TO THE NET, TO THE SKIIIEES, TO THE STRAAAARS".

Very wrong. LAC knew they had him once the meeting was over. He only came back to Toronto to see if they would match.

But we did force them to up the offering.

Also, it's rumored Kawhi only gave the Lakers a meeting to ask why they didn't trade for him in San Antonio.

Why do they play Gasol so much? He can't run. He can't jump. He can't shoot..... his time has passed. Play Ibaca more or find another big.

The 30/40 year old? His day has passed too even if he joints loosen up every so often.

My guess is Masai will give him and Marc enough PT so their stats look good at the trade deadline (and not that we have much else in the way of options).

The return of Mafuzzy Chef...Oklahoma Thunder reunion edition.

Snake isn't a hardship, Kawhi had to eat cock...no wonder he left!

Snake can be very tasty if marinated properly. Always start with sour mash (JD) and soy...dry mustard is also good.

he has bad games and he has good games. Yes he's not that mobile, and we look better most of the time with Ibaka on the floor. They have to save Ibaka for late season too.

We looked ok most of the game against the Celts. We lost both times in Boston last year too.

It will definitely be an uglier year, and they'll have to come up with some more talent to throw at teams. Davis might come around and be part of our future. OG is looking pretty good. He'll have to continue to progress too.

Raptors are still very good, but the Clippers and Lakers are stacked!

Defense is looking good (rebounding can always get better) now already and it OG gets it going with some offensive help too, no one will say this isn't an entertaining bunch still...:bolt:

IMO still have a long way to go! OG looks like he is improving with each outing, Gasol some better last night but far from what the Raps need as #1 centre, candidate for "load management". Bench is not the bench we have become accustomed to, needs an upgrade!
I was hoping to see Boucher break out...… in the few minutes he got last night, I thought he was pressing. He has looked better!

in the next few weeks we'll have played Boston(lost in boston already, but we lost there last year too), and philly and Milwaukee, ....and maybe even Miami. It comes down to how we stand up against the East. All we have to do is win the East. Not worried about the West. They can beat up on each other all year and through 3 rounds of the playoffs. I'm not convinced we can do it as is right now, and other teams always have the advantage when adding to their rosters by All Star break time....but who knows.

I even think Nurse will find a way to use Matt Thomas effectively too. He hit two threes, and then they didn't look for him again. That will change if he can hold his own on defense.

beat the Magic ….and a win is a win! They went with 8 guys again,(plus Boucher for 4 minutes), that is going to burn guys out early and cause injuries. Had the Magic put away a couple of times and let them off the hook. Powell 1/7 yuk!
On the positive side OG and Siakim were solid and KLo showed grit and leadership.

After what looked like a promising pre-season, Powell has been a huge disappointment.

Folks, patience is. A virtue! 82 game sched, remember, with up to 28 games after that! Guess what, 4 games in, no one can figure anything out. 10 game blocks, like last year, should be focus. This year first games include longest west coast swing, the bucks and Casey again tonight. Let's see how they ball through this bit and we will get truer feel. Regardless, group still looks strong and if OG and Norm can rise above expectations and bench evolves and develops some d first mentality, well let's see what that brings! Let's go Raptors..
