...this is Bonci now, he quit alcohol.

We missed out, there used to be a Roman pizza joint on the southeast corner of Yonge and Gerrard, I still remember it. It got turned into a croissant joint....don't know what it is now. Bonci opened restaurants in Chicago and Miami...but not here. :(
There use to be a pizza place on Yonge above Eglington, they had pizza al taglio like in Italy. It was called SPQR which is the name for ancient Rome. Senate and the People of Rome.

My grandparents would make it like this at Christmas:

Yes !! Especially the cherries. Which was also in the fruit cake and the rum plum pudding or whatever it’s called lol. Lots of fake fruit fun

Going off on a bit of a tangent, one of my favourite restaurants for steak when I lived in Montreal was Moishe's. They had a large and loyal Jewish clientele.

Anyways, one time I was there and a guy at the table next to me ordered a large rib-eye steak, but with a tall glass of milk to go along with it. Even the waiter rolled his eyes...
So he wasn’t kosher

Maybe it was soya milk…perhaps or maybe not ? In any case, the optics would have been bad.

Definitely moo milk. And yes, the optics were gross, to a Jewish eye...

That said, I do love me a cheeseburger, bacon on my Caesar's salad, plus shrimp and lobster too... :geek:

Personally I don’t like sweet mixed with savoury, so no pineapple on my pizza. However in the case of Italy, pizza is part of their cultural identity and many of them would innately not welcome “ foreign “ versions of their pizza.
The tomato was not native to Italy, was brought there from South America by the European explorers post Columbus and the Italians quickly integrated the vegetable into their cuisine with tomato sauce becoming standard on their simple cheese and very thin crust pizza.
Italian immigrants to America took pizza to a new level with the addition of meats, thick crusts and many toppings.

California rolls is often looked down on in Japan because it is a foreign innovation which contains avocados .
Alien would laugh at the rich irony/ mind boggling hipocrisy of human beings:

"However in the case of Italy, pizza is part of their cultural identity and many of them would innately not welcome “ foreign “ versions of their pizza." True!

And in doing so they would be overlooking that little pesky truth about them integrating a foreign/non-native vegetable into their cuisine =>

"The tomato was not native to Italy, was brought there from South America by the European explorers post Columbus and the Italians quickly integrated the vegetable into their cuisine..."

Manga Cakes always proving they know nothing about Italy or Italian culture. Forza Italia sensa la sciffossa pineapple!
Don't care. If Italy wanted to tell me what to do, they shouldn't have let the Roman Empire collapse.

Was Indian Pizza invented in Brampton?

Dave the big gumba reviews Popular Pizza.

Nah. Growing up in India even the popular American chains like Domino's and pizza hut were selling paneer tikka pizza or tandoori chicken pizza in India decades ago.

One thing that India would always do with food is take it and then make it their own (like they have done for centuries through history)

Pineapple on pizza and Justin Beiber both come from Canada. We can never apologize enough and must never stop. They are both a stain and a pox on humanity that will forever taint our souls. Not in an Andrew Taint sort of way thank Lemmy but still. Although I am 95% sure that Andrew Taint is a minion of the first evil Justin Beiber.
