A fake, cartoonish version of "anti colonialism" gives most of the shabby, corrupt, inept 3rd world dictatorships a pitch to make themselves look a little more respectable to their public.

It's the same deal as corrupt US client states in the 3rd World promoting themselves as "anti communists" in the 1970's.
