He's a perfect example of why successful business leaders don't usually make good politicians. In business they get used to saying and doing what they want, very few people will call them on their bullshit as long as they're successful. Politics doesn't work that way. Ross Perot made a whole litany of bone-headed statements during his campaign too.

That is his business model in office buildings, condos, hotels, clothing line and TV shows. He has little to do with the projects except for promotion.
All of which makes him ripe for criticism and fair game to question his credibility as a business leader. He has been banking on his name recognition for 20 years now.

Has he been successful in doing so? Sure but so is Kim Kardashian. Maybe she should run for president.

Sounds crazy but they have a lot in common. Remember that much of Trump's fame comes from his affair with Marla Maples not his real estate ventures.

I think two things will happen:

1) Trump will fall out of the race before it gets serious

2) the Trump brand won't be negatively impacted in the long run. He's a wealthy man in the twilight years of life with little to lose who will soon hand over the third successive generation of Trump wealth to his own kids who will quietly keep building where he left off.

What's missing in Trump's statements is nuance.

Quite true.

The tragedy of this whole situation is that it doesn't matter at all if what Trump said is the least little bit true. He offended some people who are minorities and THAT'S the story, nothing else matters.

He'll recover from all the short term damage. Memories are as short as news cycles, but big business continues grinding away. It's like athletes that get in trouble and lose multi-million dollar sponsorship deals only to regain them after the noise has settled. Trump is a bigger player than most of them.

"'Man is the most vicious of animals and life is a series of battles ending in victory or defeat." - Donald Trump (1982)

I agree. But no doubt, people should be open minded and give people a chance.

But in life, there's always trends. It's not like everything in the world is the exact same. Just because people notice a trend, doesn't mean people have to act on it. It's simply just noticing facts.

I'm pretty sure all ethnicities don't have the same look, height, education, life expectancy etc.... Everyone is different. Can be due to hereditary, or due to living in first world, second or third world country. Add it all up, and the governments in every country tabulates stat books.

In fact, it would be just as prejudice for someone to purposely not notice differences as someone who is blatantly being prejudice.

That's like me seeing a white person, black person, man, woman, old person, young person, law abiding citizen or lifetime crook, etc.... and not noticing the differences they all show both in appearance and spirit. To me, they all look different, they all act different as everyone has different personalities, and each of them bring different experiences and abilities.

Trump has no chance for actually winning the nomination. His statements are a narcissistic attempt to get in the spotlight for a while and feel important. The guy puts out ridiculous statements in order to garner attention. One of the biggest issues I have with Trump is how he touts himself as a tough, self-made man when in fact, he inherited a ton of money from his father who was a real estate tycoon (and who made most of his money from the US government by selling to homes to WWII veterans using FHA loans). He attended prestigious private schools and was installed as president of his father's company.

During the great recession in 1990, Trump walked into Citibank's office and threw the key on the table. Citibank put him on a monthly allowance and nursed him back to financial health. (The Reichmans refused to admit they were bankrupt and the banks pulled the plug and the Reichmans lost Canary Wharf.)

Even as a basic survival mechanism people associate with those who look similar to themselves

If the science is too much for you just look at how even to this day the world is split into tribes who try their damnedest to exterminate each other

Escaped Cartel drug lord has allegedly threatened Trump.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...tter-escaping-prison-shower-block-tunnel.html

The drug lord does indeed embody all that is wrong with Mexico and is proving Trump's point.

He's also leader of an extremely brutal cartel that routinely posts online videos showing the savage torture and butchering of rival cartel members. Any threat from him shouldn't be taken lightly.

Apparently Trump got scared and called the FBI after buddy responded to Trump's original threat.
