There are countries in Europe where university education is paid by the state. Greece is one of them. It's very hard to get into unless you have connections. Be happy you are in Canada you would not want to be there. Your education would be paid for but you would not have a job. We live in a great country. I had a loan and paid it off in time.
Is there anything I can do legally to avoid paying my OSAP loans?

Whenever someone titles a document "....The Facts..." I know not to read it. Same with "....The Truth...". A more rational argument can be made with a less assertive title and intelligent people might pay attention.Education should be free because then people would learn not to take out loans out they couldn’t pay back. Capitalism doesn’t work. I personally never took a loan because i didnt wanna graduate with debt so i worked every summer and paid for school at the expense of my social life and family life. I use to work my ass off and I would barely go out or spend time at home. You clearly dunt understand the value of education to a human being because there are people out their who beg for it but their situation wont allow them too. They will ride the wheels of poverty till the end of time. People are distracted to the real issues of the world. Why is the government so stupid, in a country where a bigmac combo cost less then a healthy meal, where money is held in the CEO’s bank accounts when it could be helping people, where clothes, name brands, label people and classify them. Where you live classifies you. How much money you have classifies you. The world is fucked and i think we could use more educated people. Instead of getting that banker another million dollar home which will be empty half the time. For the record, a person who doesn’t wanna pay back their loan because they just cant afford it is not a person who needs to get a job, im sure they have a job and work very hard to support the components of their life. But a loan will take the back seat to the necessities of life like food, water, shelter, clothing, a social life. If after this they have money and are able to pay back their loan then they wouldn’t be posting a question like this.
Also the government surprisingly has started a new initiative where all or some of your loan may be forgiven, I think there are A LOT of restrictions on this but check out the osap website. Cheers,

The only Osap relief I was able to get was during the time when I was actually in school. Maintaining an honors level GPA saved me 10k. As for what to do to escape now, aside from shooting yourself or trying a face off style switch, your stuck.

It's pretty simple. Just move to Quebec and spend your time protesting instead of studying.

What is funny is that even the larger student loans are nothing compared to a standard mortgage. Unless you bounced around while getting your degree or picked up letters after your name, it should not be so large as to be unpayable. Unless of course you just can't manage to get anything but a mcJob, even then. In order to be remotely fucked you would have to go through 4 or 5 years never getting a summer job or working part time and not be considered to have received parental aid. If so you are the author of your own misfortune.
Add to this the buttload of programs they have. Things change I assume but I recall that OSAP would pay off a big chunk if your loan is too large and the feds would pay off 26 grand in 3 yearly payments if your income was too low. Toss in years of interest relief <bitter> which CIBC was a total cunt about dealing with costing me a few months due to their incompetence, fuck them may war and anal rape be upon their name </bitter>
Toss in everything and even a 50K student loan gets chopped down considerably. A good value for a chance to float around for 4 years getting drunk and having coitus while avoiding the real world [well not me, but most others]
