Didn't check the roster but it sure sounds like they'll be top heavy with Latinos.
And for a team that has had very few switch hitters over the past many years, an abundance of them... and all of them Latinos, too! ;)

Has Budweiser officialized the trade yet ?
Reyes was in Dubai on vacation until yesterday, he's probably doing his physical today. That would be part of the reason for the delay in approval.

Bookies seem to think so; before the trade, the Jays odds to win the WS were as high as 100:1 - since news of the trade those odds have jumped to 14:1, leaving only eight teams with better odds....if that means anything.
They are now tied with the Yankees for 4th favourite at 11:1.

C - Arrencibia, Buck - Both decent defensively with some pop. Neither gets on base much.
Arrencibia has pretty good offensive numbers despite a low batting average. He also has great timing for coming up with a key hit - I recall a few games last year where he hit a homer in extra innings or late in the game to win it.

I wouldn't be surprised if AA trades one of them though, Arrencibia has a very low price tag. Mind you, if both of them are around at the start of the season it may be a nice piece of trade bait if another loses a starting catcher to injury

A manager is only worth 1 or 2 wins/losses a year. Not a big deal.

As far as making the right in-game call you are probably correct. However, what's not to underestimate is the tone the manager sets in getting the most out of his players. 162 games is a long season and the manager needs to motivate the guys, reward and discipline as necessary. If there was really discord in the Jays locker room last year Farrell should have put an end to it. How many games were lost to poor attitude will never be known, but the manager must spot it and weed it out. On the other hand, Maddon in TB seams to always get the most out of budget constrained team with great pitching but lacking bats.

A competent or better manager may only be able to help obtain a handful of wins over the course of a season, but a bad manager is capable of losing many more games.
