Droid X Takes Pot Shot at iPhone 4 Case Situation

Pants optional.

Motorola has rolled out another Droid X ad poking fun at the Apple iPhone 4 "design compromised" antenna.

Like the last one, it's a full page ad for newspapers, but this time it's drawing attention to the fact that it doesn't require a case for the antenna to work at its best.

At Motorola, we believe a customer shouldn’t have to dress up their phone for it to work properly. That’s why the DROID X comes with a dual antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like to make crystal clear calls without a bulky phone jacket. For us it’s just one of those things that comes as a given when you’ve been making mobile phones for over 30 years.

Droidx in answer to Apple claiming the Motorola phone has signal issues when you hold it in a weird unnatural way

lol Apple are the only people that can get that to happen, that in itself is news and the tech industry is laughing at Apples feeble attempt to take the heat off their poorly designed iPhone 4
Go Apple Go lol

btw you must have Apple quicktime installed to view the videos from that website. so i prefer to watch it on youtube ;)

Apple’s hopeless Antennagate spin campaign hits the Droid X

Apple is hoping that their notorious reality distortion field might somehow extend to competing products, and continues to knock out a series of dull videos showing rival smartphones supposedly suffering the same ‘Antennagate’ issues as their iPhone 4.

Apart from the sheer lameness of this rival-knocking campaign, it’s hardly proving persuasive either.

Some of the ‘deathgrips’ require the model to hold the phone in some pretty unlikely positions, and there’s a fatal flaw in all of them: no other smartphone has the single, signal-destroying ‘death spot’ seen on the iPhone’s casing.

Backfiring?

In fact, we suspect that all this series of videos are doing is reminding folks of the ongoing and still unfixed reception problems with the iPhone 4 – and we would have thought they’d be better off trying to sweep that particular flaw under the carpet.

Anyhow, here’s the latest in Apple’s tedium inducing series of videos showing a tightly grasped Motorola Droid X losing its signal.

who wouldn't want at least a plastic jacket on their iphone anyway? it's better to hold, and if you drop it a little, it'll be safer. if it makes the antenna issue go away, well, great!

Of course, but with Apple having so much success the Apple haters have to grasp at any straw....

Now that you got your new iPhone4, what do you do with your old iPhone? Do you junk it? Is there a market for old iPhones?

The Palm Pre and Pixi Plus were first to market on this feature and they don't use Linux.
Well Droid knows better and does use Linux!....

I'm sure you could sell it or use it as an iPod Touch.

I gave mine to my daughter, she had cracked the screen on her iPhone so ATT just swapped the phones for her.

For people with jailbroken iPhones, there is a $10 app called MyWi that turns their phones into mobile hotspots, no monthly charge required. However they need to be comfortable with having a jailbroken phone.
Its a good feature but 95% of the time tethering is sufficient.

LMAO gotta love it, Apple showin' everyone how the competition measures up as well.
Nice.
show me one single phone that can be affected by a single finger? because thats what the real issue is, a poorly designed external antenna exclusively on iPhone 4! and that is why Apple had to eat crow and give away FREE cases to cover the design flaw

Can someone please tell me what the hell the hype is about this crappy thing? Do people buy anything that apple dishes out, because it sure does seem that way. 'Apple magic pad' rofl, that thing has been out for years. apple's products are always beautiful no doubt.
i just dont see why people are so obsessed to the point of lining up .. for what? just a phone that has 'facetime'? iphone 3gs added a compas and video camera and people go insane? jesus.
