The new Ipad mini is priced at $329 for the 16gb at the Apple store. I thought it would be closer to the Amazon product. Right now it's only $70 less than the bigger ipad. People will still probably buy it but I'd just as soon get a bigger one at that price.
Of course they'll buy it. Apple packages and markets incredibly well, it's their strong suit. Companies all over the world are studying Apple's practice and will be implementing them in their own products and marketing. It's a sleekly designed and packaged product, anything Apple.
The iPad Mini by the specs for all we know could be using old iPhone and iPod parts. But in all seriousness, it comes down to packaging and marketing. The Kindle Fire did incredibly well and Apple had felt it needed to get into that market quickly.

I agree people will buy it but the question is will they be buying it instead of a regular ipad or instead of the smaller tablets it's supposed to compete against. At this price point I think they are competiing against themselves.

the price difference between the Mini and the Regular iPad is disappointing.
It's between an iPod Touch ($299) and a iPad 2 ($399)... what I expected.
