If all good dialogue dies, than this forum will die. If there is room for people that are different it will turn in to a onesided plattform, rather than a forum of debatte.

I know some people hate BUSH, some hate Americans in general. But what does it serve to jump on every thing you can? I've never been a card carrying member of anything, so I always have trouble with people that are vehement in their support of any political party.
I find that this partisanship plays out in this board like it does in the real world where political campaigns have really degenerated to nothing more than attacks on the other guy. That's what happens on this board when politics are discussed.
What I find funny is that people would find a need to be partisan on a board like this, especially since the debate usually revolves around American politics, where there are very few voters to try and convince.
I think it would be a lot more interesting if people actually said what they felt instead of just trying to tear down the other guy, becuase if you look at it objectively there are just as many idiots on the left side of the political spectrum as there are on the right. (and the middle for that matter).

People are too entrenched in their views to see the other side, or for that matter to even "hear" what the "other side" is saying. Everything has become politicized to the point where you can't change a light bulb without someone ranting and raving about how it was the Democrat's/Republican's fault that the light bulb burned out in the first place. Should you expect more? I doubt it considering that people tune into the news not to be informed about what is happening but rather to justify their position on a certain topic.langeweile said:
