I have no desire to move away from Toronto as my extended family and work are here, plus in Toronto we have cute SP's, low rates, lots of food choices, etc. I like snow at Christmas too.
That said, if I had to move I might pick the south of France, like Antibes.
Like several others, I have also had opportunity to travel a fair amount with work... All over North America, Central America and most parts of Europe. Gen certainly makes a great argument for Italy! One of my fav restaurants of all time in Firenze... and the scenery? Breathtaking. The French Riviera is also incredible. I've been to the Caribbean as well, but honestly that is TOO hot for my personal tatses.... (Sorry Lisa...)
That said, I truly believe we live in the greatest country in the world. Sure the weather sucks sometimes, but this just makes me appreciate the spring and summer months that much more! Canada is rich with resources and although we bitch about the governemnt all the time, at least we have the right and priviledge to do so.
My background is Italian and I always feel like "I'm home" in a strange way when I go visit the "old country" - which is strange cause I was born and raised in Canada.
