Likely they realize that the police won't back them so don't want to risk their vehicles towing trucks in an angry mob.

Check this traffic map for Ottawa: https://traffic.ottawa.ca/beta/en Literally, only a few blocks are affected by demonstration. Everywhere else life is normal. Yes, people living in these blocks (not many as there are not many residential buildings there) may be unhappy. But not as many as the number of people who got hurt by these by idiotic mandates. Remember quarantine hotels? Wee they necessary? How about US/Canada border closure? PCR test to drive from U.S. that is still required? Why??? Is COVID in the U.S. different from the one in Canada? And requiring vaccination for trackers who literally spend almost all time in isolation in their trucks? The most idiotic requirement. Canadians a sick of idiotic COVID measurements than make no sense have low effectiveness. It is time to live with COVID and simply rely on available vaccine and individual precautions at the extend any given individual wants to. The unaccented present little increase in risk for vaccinated people. If you want to wear a mask - get N95 and wear it to protect yourself, do not require others to do it. Even 100% vaccination rate and all wearing masks will not change things much for people who are vaccinated and wearing masks anyway. With current vaccination rate and the number of vaccinated who already had COVID in the last 3-6 month we already have herd immunity, which is useless because it was against a different variant.

I didn't agree with the flack Maher caught back then, but it was partially his fault. The 9/11 terrorists were cowards for attacking civilians- that was the meaning of the term used by the administration (and everybody else in America). Maher chose to be literal and objected the use of the term on the basis of the suicidal(self sacrificial) nature of the attack. So, yeah- while the attack was cowardly it was not performed by cowards.

It is used in a general derogatory way, similar to the way you use the word "liberal"
