Thought it was funny.

Ya see it's on "Chapelle's Show" (Dave Chapelle) so therefore it's seen as acceptable. If it was on SNL it would be considered offensive. It's funny how things like that work... like some of the jokes made on the Family Guy cartoon. If that was live action there'd be hell to pay. - That's why Howard Stern gets away with alot of his stuff .. he's Jewish and his sidekick is black. He says some things that could be percieved as pretty racist.

Humor

Almost never find humor offensive in any way, especially since it's made clear that's what it is up front. "politically correct" has gotten to be a reason to bash a whole lot of things lately and I'm thoroughly sick of it.

That was hilarious! Chappelle is a genius!

Only thing I didn't get was the 'wetback' thing. I don't get it.

Mexicans are called wet backs because they tend to do alot of the farm labour in the southern state wich has them bent over in the sun picking, hence wet back

I heard they were called wetbacks because they swam the Rio Grande to enter the US illegally.

Chappelle is gonna be (is) a star, he appeals to both blacks and whites. Another black comic I like is Martin Lawrence

ahh.......................!

Chapelle is a comic genius! It's funny how satire and sarcasm can F up a bigoted agenda! He took the N-word and co-oped the word to the point where it cannot do any harm! Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor were originals in combining satire and sarcasm. Here in Canada we have the 'trailer park boys' and 'this hour has 22 minutes' and I sure some people are offended ! However we must remember that sometimes you just got laugh out loud in the midst of the madness!

I've seen some good stuff making fun of PC attitudes but this didn't cut it for me. Not offensive, just stupid. Way too much time to make a simple joke.

It's not a simple joke and it's not about PC.

Correct. It was basically the same joke repeated with a different phrase each time. It was somewhat humorous at first but got tiresome after the 2nd or 3rd time.
