I wanna see the Survivor Tijuana series. They follow some hapless white guy in a new Jaguar with only 100 bucks in his pocket. It'll be a short series..guy wouldn't last 15 minutes!~

I don't mind intelligent discussion on race but this is exploitation.

They call it being multi-cultural. HA!

Sad thing is people are gonna watch it, only ot encourage more such crap

Ya the idea of race competing is a bit odd. They're marketing it as a social experiment.

Personally I think we've got more than enough social experiments happening in the world right now and we don't need CBS to add another!

If you start pitting one culture against another for commercial gain, then we've hit a new low in morals and entertainment. We've also just rebuilt just about every societal barrier we've overcome in the past 200 years.

I can't believe people watch this crap.... survivor, big brother, american idol. Ugh I hate that stuff. Who wants to watch regular people?

I prefer HBO TV series, showcase, bravo, IFC, documentary channel, action, scream, even diva sometimes.

TV was meant for watching beautiful and or talented people doing things not your neighbour. :D

It is totally for commercial gain. This is TV we're talking about. They want controversy and emotions to blow up by using race. Pathetic. You know they want things to go sour between the group - will put them in situations so it will happen. This is no social experiment. They want trouble. Like how the popular Jerry Springer episodes are the ones were people attack each other. They don't want a Springer episode where everyone politely talks their issues out. They want a fight - better for ratings.

As for playing the race card....sfw? I mean, why not? America is still very racially segregated and IMO, depending on who they get for each tribe, you will see the dynamics of various races in various tests. For eg: If they get black people from the carribean pitted against white people from chicago, the heat will kill the tribe from chicago but the black guys will be all sittin' 'round smokin the ganja and miss a couple of the tests lol (just kidding).

ON the other hand however, if they grab a group from say all walks of life, you shouldn't see much difference in their abilities. I remember the Tuskegee Airmen and during the formation of the squadron they held hearings and had doctors testifying that a black man didn't have the mental capacity to fly a plane ....yeah...RIIIIGHT..... dumbasses......and we all know how THAT turned out (if you didn't know they were the most decorated squadron in the ETO)

It will be interesting to see how they stack the teams.

But what gets me are the people who participate in this crap, the contestants!

Obviously after so many seasons, Survivor is dying (lol pun intended) and they're doing anything to survive (lol another pun!) but the sadder part is.....people will watch.....just dont you discuss it on this here forum site!!!!!

I think you hit the nail on the head. It depends what type of character the person is and what there life experieces are, not what race theyare.

my guess is, they'll probably go for the sterio types. mid-western whites, urban blacks, studious asians.

Come on everybody LIGHTEN UP a bit!!! This is not the end of the world. I don't think we need to reincarnate Martin Luther King Jr. and start race riots because of Survivor. So it divided by race? Who gives a shit. Maybe it'll be more interesting. I'm waiting for the heterosexuals vs. homosexuals Survivor :) Now that would be interesting.

Can't we all get along? :D Hopefully, people can agree that it was a dumb show when it started and even worse now.

If you like survival as a concept check out survivor man that show is so much more interesting here you get to see a guy purposely put himself in tough environments with little or no equipment and he uses his skills to build fires, catch fooed etc. I mean it's still TV so it's still produced, polished and fake but much closer the original premise of survival.
