The only CEO ever who came from the outside and turned the large company around was Louis Gerstner of IBM. HP is a typical example of fucked up company that completely lost its direction after the founders left. Complete HP board and senior management should be fired and they need to get people from the inside. People who understand the company - understand the company's culture and core values. You can't manage things you don't understand. I will be very surprised if Meg Whitman succeeds.

She used to be on HP's board before this. As danmand said, HP's board is incompetent. Not good.
