How useful is Twitter?

I'm a sex worker, online and in person. Twitter has been extremely helpful for me as it has helped me getting in touch with other sex workers that have been extra generous with their advice and support. It has also helped me connect with clients that truly want to get to know me. I would have never thought it would be this great.

So tell me forum, was Twitter helpful to you?
Also I would like to know if you follow sex workers or if you're just lurking (privacy matters)

Btw mine is @lenacarti

I tend to avoid sex workers on Twitter- I find that there is a nasty cluster of sex workers on Twitter who hate their clients, hate review boards (which they claim are infested with disrespectful “slobbyests”), out clients for any and all perceived transgressions, and are generally there just to complain and pick fights.

I know many SP’s have Twitter accounts and most of them are not like this. In fact, many of my favourite sp’s are active on Twitter. However, from a guy’s perspective, if you stray into looking for sex workers on Twitter it is inevitable that sooner or later you will be swarmed by a horde of angry, man-hating sex workers- they are always lurking and waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Thus, I use Twitter for Politics, Sports, and Entertainment but I stay far away from sex workers on that platform.

I guess the same could be said of some hobbyists on this board really.

Personally I don’t use twitter because I don’t see the appeal. In fact, I tend to avoid all social media outlets altogether. It even took many years to join a forum board.

I just lurk Twitter to learn SP’s personality and attitude. To find out which SP is a good match for me and who to avoid. Cross referenced with reviews on TERB.
Twitter has helped me avoid many bad attitude SP’s.

I use TERB for the reviews in understanding the service, looks, attitude, experience level to be expected in a session.

I see this too. I especially dislike the condescending posts like “if you chat with a sex worker and don’t compensate her you’re this or that, whatever. Lots of preachy SJW types too.

I guess it’s a double edged sword. Good for promoting but good for turning off potential clients with a poor attitude.

Yes, I find Twitter to be a very useful tool to get a better sense of some of the ladies out there.

For the most part, you get a better sense of their personalities and the pictures that they post are more authentic looking versus the airbrushed glamour shots that most agencies upload.

If my interest is piqued, then I might be encouraged to comment on one of their posts. How they respond can influence whether or not I wish to pursue something further.

I’ve made connections with several ladies via Twitter, and have had dates with a couple of them so far.

For example, I found Adi @ Sassy’s via Twitter, and I really liked her posts. I reached out to her, and I ended up being the first client she saw since COVID. I don’t think the date would have come to fruition had I just casually seen her profile on Sassy’s website.

But in a sense it could be useful because you know which one to avoid, if their tweets don't align with your beliefs it's better not to book them. No?

I get the looks and attitude but I'm not sure about the expectations. What if the sex worker and client just happened to have an amazing connection and you don't? Won't you be disappointed to go to an appointment and get something so far from your expectations?

Sorry for derailing my own thread

I suppose that’s true. If I was more objective about just gathering info and didn’t take anything personally then I suppose it would be useful. I just find dealing with that stuff so unpleasant that I try to avoid it.

That’s just me, though. Other guys seem to find it helpful.

I use an RSS reader to privately follow the feeds of some SPs, mostly just for schedule announcements and occasional non-photoshopped pics. I tend to stay away from the higher-volume tweeters (like 20 tweets/day) cause it's just too much to go through.

Great SP if not always majority of times are very well reviewed, if I read one or two reviews that are less than great it doesn’t change my opinion on wanting to see the SP and that also goes for bad SP who will get the great occasional review, it doesn’t make me want to see the SP anymore.

Consistency in reviews is what I look for and for the most part it hasn’t let me down.

You only see people who have been reviewed? What if they have a no review policy like many of Toronto independant providers?

Really good point. Sometimes I have to mute an SP because their volume of tweets and retweets fills up my Twitter feed.

I have use twitter to book pretty much all new girl I saw over the past 2 years. I do not care if they post a lot I simply filter by media and look at what they are like and act. I care about attitude and character much more then body type or look. So twitter is much MUCH better then any review and/or pictures of agency site that tells you nada.

I use it for porn and sex. That's about it. Sometimes I'll read articles from reputable news companies (few and far between these days). But if you're getting knowledge from Twitter, "You're doing it wrong son."

I'm kind of still learning on how to use Twitter. How do you filter media and what are you looking for? Thanks.

BTW, I saw Ruby retweet Heaven (MTL's Euphoria) on the treadmill. There is some benefit of retweets. Heaven has quite a body. I don't like bolt-ons, but Heaven carries them well.

I almost wish there was a Twitter directory for Canadian escorts. Now you either have to have a forum member mention a Twitter handle, sometimes the agency divulges it on their website/Twitter or more than likely another escort will retweet a colleague.
