How often are women afraid in public?

I saw a tiktok video where a woman was enjoying kayaking with her dog and she came across a dude in the middle of nowhere. She had to flee and cut her holiday short.

I've never really felt unsafe in public. How often do women get this feeling?

well probably a lot. how often are we told to cross sides of the street if walking near a woman. not to approach a woman in certain situations. to phase things said in a more pleasing manner. it seems men have adapted their behavior so that women can feel more safe or less uncomfortable.

its been an ongoing behavior modification program for men.

I see women out in public every day. If they were truly afraid, they would not be walking outside given that they can order food and other supplies online.....

Maybe give women a little more credit here.....

have you never been told when its at night cross the street so that she can feel safer?

some of the stuff I have been told of the years makes me wonder if women live in a constant state of fear when they reasonable should not be. some of it makes my head spin.

women disproportionately have greater occurrences of anxiety then men. depending on the research almost double.

there is having fear and being able to complete your daily routines versus not being to walk outside.

I am assuming that you are directing this to the small minority of women membership here. I'm not a woman - how the hell would I know ?

According to Reddit's \askawoman, fairly often.

Creeps and weirdos ignore women's legitimate concerns.

Sensible women feel unsafe where they are supposed to. Woke twitter social justice warrior types that some of these SPs seem to be will treat every man as a rapist and be afraid all the time and expect people to walk on eggshells around them.
This.

Sometimes we have right to be nervous

Sometimes, like with some men, we have idiot women who doesn’t represent the entirety of women.

Sometimes a woman’s past unhealed trauma affects a woman and while she is right to have her feelings, they are not right for the time and place she is currently in.

Some men can’t understand why women have these fears because they are good men and would never dream of hurting a woman. But there are, just like with women, some bad men out there and they make it worse for everyone.

PS - men are stronger than women. Not going to get into the debate about it. It is fact.

So based on that fact - sometimes we get nervous simply because we know we would be screwed if something happened. If that makes sense. I guess just like guys get nervous that a pimp his hiding behind the door. Thousands of appointments happen in a day without issue but guys will be nervous because sometimes there is a pimp behind the door and you don’t know what you will do or if you can do anything. If he has a gun, you’re fucked. As women, we don’t need you to have a gun to be fucked. You have a fist. They hurt. I know. I have been punched by enough of them in my life.

So it really is a combination of things. The girl in the video / all alone / remote area - I can see her getting nervous. But some women are stupid and blame men for their nervousness and not their own feelings. The guy in the woods did nothing and is not to blame at all if he just happened to be there doing his own thing.

Thank you.
Some men can also be nervous when they see a Bushy tall strong man in the wilderness.

That is very true as well. When you are waking alone and expect to see no one and then all of a sudden someone is there - it can make some people nervous.

guys size each other up all the time. its an unspoken truth that a larger and stronger man could possibly kill a smaller weaker man. as men we recognize and choose our battles in who we choose to become physical with. as time as passed we use communication most of the time to solve our problems instead of violence, but it always underlying.

There's apps to use your smartphone as a body cam. When I'm out I just want to do my own thing whatever it is. I'm cordial to everyone when daily interactions happen- but there's been many women who obviously interpret that as me being interested in more-which I'm not. My phone is in either a shirt or pant pocket recording the entire time because some can't cope with my rejection and become unstable with emotional outbursts.

I just keep moving along- the truth is up on the cloud and God is my witness.✝
Name of app?

This is pretty similar to my thoughts.

Many years ago my daughter took a couple of evenings of a babysitting course, one of the key sections was getting home safely. Until I was at this with her it never really occurred to me that women would feel like that. Maybe I should have known but I didn't but I do now and I do try to help lessen any nerves someone might be feeling.

I am a larger sized man, about 6' 2" and 250 lbs, a complete teddy bear but how would anyone else know just looking at me, especially at night if they happen to be walking alone?

Pretty easy for me to walk faster on the other side of the street to pass her and try to make it known I am just walking past.

If I can do things like that to help someone else feel comfortable I will do it

Typical thread on here where a guy asks women a question and all but one or two posts is by a guy who knows better than any woman ever would. There's a sameness to some of these threads.
