OK. He's now thrown 41 TD passes in 11 games which is 3.73 per game. At that rate he'll end up with 60 (59.68 actually). Marino's record is 48. This looks like it's gonna be one of those records that gets blown away big time. The question now is by how much. What'cha think?

I'm guessing he'll slow the pace down a bit and end up with 56.

I agree with the 56-59 number. The way their offense is structured, he can't help but throw for 3-4 every game. He's got that many weapons and he is just that good. If Tony had left him in the game to finish the 3rd and 4th quarter, he probably could have gotten another 3 against the Lions...

As a long time die hard Colts fan (yes, since the late 1970's, just when they began a streak of about 20 years where they made the post season twice)....I think the strategy is to get the record done with as early as possible, and then begin working on a more balanced offensive attack in preparation for the playoffs. Everything Peyton has accomplished this year has been in warm weather or inside domed stadiums. If he has to play a January playoff game in Pittsburgh or New England, where cold hampers his and his receivers' grips, and the wind plays havoc with longer throws, they will have to have a running game in order to have half a chance at winning. And don;t forget, their offense is playing a dangerous game of trying to outscore what its defense will surely give up (last 2 opponents inability to score against Colt defense is irrelevant since it was Chicago and Detroit).

As a huge fan, as much as I'd love to believe this is the Colts' year, my gut feeling tells me the only way the Colts get to the Super Bowl is if they have home field advantage throughout the post season....

They finish against three teams that are each currently 7-3. He's bound to slow down, and if any of those games is a blowout one way or the other, I can't imagine his coaches would leave him in. I'm guessing 52-55.

I'm hoping 47 - I think Peyton can be very selfish.....I've seen several times this year where he change the play near the goal line from a running play to a passing play inorder to get a TD stat....and several times it didn't work out so they had to settle for a field goal...

This tells me Peyton cares more about his stats then winning....great QB's care about winning not about stats imo

Peyton hasn't done much in the play-offs, last year was the only year he won a play-off game, I think

I think he'll break Marino's record, but he will choke like he always does in the first or second round of the playoffs. Eventually Indy will have to play a team that is more well-rounded than they are, and this year it will be either the Pats or Steelers that will most likely knock Indy out.
