So with the recent passing of Bill C51 in Canada. The Harper government has now effectively created the "Big Brother" that they wanted. Allowing them to monitor our activities online without a respective warr now. Along with having other respective powers that violate our constitutional right for privacy. Needless to say, that potentially makes even visiting Escort sites and writing and reading reviews here on Terb risky. Particularly if they want to take action and shut down some agencies. Since if they do request any private information like the IP and account holder information from the ISP. They have to hand it over by law. Of course this Bill was made to combat "Terrorism". But I'm sure Harper had other things in mind to crack down on his moral agenda.

They've moved on this fairly quickly in some areas. Ie. when I went to my parents house, they are using Cogeco service. They had some upgrades to their package which they were given a new router. This new router doesn't allot you to change the password. They do this in compliance with Bill C51 so the government can monitor your network if need be.

Since Bill C51 passing I have only been visiting hobby sites through a proxy. Using a combination of TorBrowser and using one of my paid for Proxies and Free Proxies. How many others are taken precautions?

Sure it maybe nothing. But same reason why I keep a seperate burner phone, being careful is certainly worth it.

That's not one of my neuroses. I have others.

Not having a significant other does simplify things for me, I must admit.

Personally I think we should start to worry more if The Conservatives win the election, but maybe I'm just being optimistic.

Some of the TorBrowser exit nodes can steal your personal info... read this article: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/priori...villainy-5-ways-stay-safe-bad-tor-exit-nodes/

On the road with Willy
They can all go kiss my hairy arse.
I've been on The Harpers list since the beginning when I NEVER voted for the CONTROL FREAK.
Ain't he cute though when he wears a sweater and plays Beetles tunes on a player piano.

Anyone use the Deep Web with Onion to "hide"? I have used it and often wondered if this really worked.

If you're so paranoid, you might as well buy a burner laptop just for browsing terb and only use public internet access points.

The OP should be more worried about his wife than Harper.
I agree.

Bill C51 is more for checking on terrorist chatter or threats against Parliament or Canadians at large. Not for us lovers of democracy.

Think about it this way. Even if they did actually care about a bunch of pooners, do you think they have the money and manpower to actually do something about it? There is so much net traffic and so many things to look out for I'm pretty sure we are way low on the list.

LE knows and has known about TERB and like sites to years. He'll some of them are here as customers and not cops.

Quit worrying.
