They advertise 5 MBps download / 800 kbps upload.

I get:

It is a potential max of 5 Mb but also depends on your actual physical connection of your unit. I used to get the 5 Mb in my old place. I have moved since then and now max out at just over 2 Mb. On the Bell site you can do a test on your line to see if High-Speed is supported and they tell you the max you can get. At my current place, it said I was limited to 3 Mb.

I don't think most people know the difference between Kb/s, Mb/s & KB/s, MB/s

I am not happy with my speed.. it is not what was advertised!

It is supposed to be 10Mb/s down & 1Mb/s up with a 100GB cap


I have Shaw Extreme.. I am thinking of upgrading to their new "Nitro" 25Mb/s service with a 150GB cap

You can have 1000 mb down but you're still dependent on the seeders upload speed
when downloading movies.

It'll do you no good if the other guy is on 500kbs

I am smoking along at 40 kbp/s. Gotta love living in the boonies where you can only get dial-up. Anyone tried satellite internet?
