How do you keep it a secret??

I have a question for the ladies of the board: In my experience, the majority of agency escorts I've seen tend to keep late hours, opting to stay until closing time - usually 2AM (aprox.) The ladies will often say that they keep this occupation a secret, yet they usually don't elaborate.

If you're a single woman living by yourself, it may be easier to hide what you do from friends and family. But for those whose living arrangements change regularly; such as living with family/others on occasion.. how do you explain the fact that you're out 3 or 4 days a week (maybe more) until 3AM??

Do you find that you have to make up explanations or get those few who do know, to cover for you??

It seems as though this could become a potential headache to deal with in the long term.

Any thoughts??

Yes Dr. Love you are right of course keeping this a secret is not easy. However if you lead a "normal" life in every other respect ie: day job, attend family functions, bowl once a week etc the couple of eveinigs that you are out late should not be a problem. After all, if one is over 21 then one does NOT need to answer to anyone. I usually laugh it off and say "gee, I did'nt know I had to report" or words to that effect. Or "It is Personal". Just my 2 cents. Maryln

I never had to worry about this because I used to engage in this hobby out of town. How about every one involved in this hobby in the same town? I am talking about clients here. I know Dr. Love does not care. Are others the same?

First of all, the suggestion that women who work for agencies are "opting to stay late until 2 a.m." is a bit of a misnomer. If you're working for an agency you don't usually have a choice. Your hours are usually determined by someone else, namely the agency owner. Leaving at 2 a.m. would be considered early by most agencies. Maybe it's a little different during the week, but on weekends, any employee who wanted to leave at 2 a.m. would be considered jumping ship and would have difficulty getting a ride home because she'd be sitting in a car somewhere with a driver and four other women who were being chauffered to other calls. The standard reply would be - we'll get you home when there's a break, which would of course be difficult to squeeze in given that most agencies do a lot of their weekend business between 1-6 a.m.

I think the more relevant question in this thread should be how do you meet your responsibilities if you're not single when you have to work these hours? I don't know too many women in this business who have the luxury of living at home or being in relationships where "they sneak out to do this job". Most are in this out of financial necessity and one the motivators for that is children. The reasons I stopped working for agencies were: (a) because many of the owners of agencies are abusive and manipulative, (b) they don't give you the right of refusal in unpleasant/dangerous situations, (c) they take 50% (if not more) of your money, (d) they are not pleasant people to spend time with and (and this is the most important) (e) the hours they require you to work are not conducive to family life. How could I possibly work until 5 a.m. and then be an attentive mother to my 5 year old when she gets up at 7:30 a.m. for her breakfast? When you're self-employed in this business, or any other for that matter, you set your schedule to fit your life, your family, your commitments. Working for agencies limits your choices.

Coming from Home....

Sometimes waiting for a lady coming from home may mean that it takes a bit longer for them to arrive (only a factor if you book on short notice), but it is always worth it when your Angel arrives at your door.
