Say you are going out with a girl....the first 4 times you pay for everything but she always offers to pay...but then all of a sudden...she doesn't even offer to pay anymore b/c you set a precedent and when the check comes...you sit there and wait like 10 seconds in unbearable silence....waiting for her to offer until finally you reach into your pocket for the credit card.

you don't mind paying b/c it will never affect your lifestyle...money is not an issue but you don't want to feel like you are being used.

Is there a way out of this....to get her to pay or at least offer to pay without making the girl feel like a twat?

Purposely forget your wallet in the car, or leave it at home. When the bill comes, pretend like you are looking for your wallet. If she is not a gold digger she will right away offer to pay. If she stalls then start the acting. Act like you are trying to recall where your wallet is. This will force her to make a decision. If she makes a big deal of it and makes you go to the car to get it instead of just paying for it herself then it's obvious she expects you to pay. If she doesn't even flinch and just pays for it, then you got yourself a good catch. I have tried this for almost every girl I have been out with a number of times. You would be suprised at the differences in responses between women. Some women just expect the men to pay. I hate this. Money is not an issue for either, but the fact of the women expecting me to pay is just disgusting. If they are allowed to expect for us to pay, then we should be allowd to expect sex. Which isn't right either. That is why no party should expect anything of the other. Hope this test helps....

I know exactly what you are saying. It would be so nice if the girl at least made an effort or put up a bit of a fuss. I've dated a few girls like this and quite honestly, I ended up cutting them loose as they are not long term material.

It's true. Any decent woman will pick up the tab around half the time. You shouldn't need to do anything for it to happen.

If by the third or fourth date she's not buying on her own, beware as she will be a high maintenance $$$ chick.

I agree with Svend. She's not using you. She tried numerous times to pay, and you're right, YOU set the precedent.

In the future, I'd suggest picking up the first one, letting her pay for the 2nd one. You pick up the 3rd. Let her get the 4th. You pick up the 5th. If she still goes out with you the 6th time, fully expecting to pay, THEN you can pay yourself (since you're so loaded), yet still not worry about why she's with you.
